Kendall Fuller - plug him right back in slot. If they dont add anyone else I guess that means we hope Dunbar reports and Moreau is CB2. if our window opening is 2022, that gives us this and next offseason to find our legit CB1 and CB2.
He should offset the Flowers comp pick. https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=329943&page=3 KC fans seems to think he was underpaid, appreciated his services. Hooper - I would have paid 4/44. But ... if this year is a "get your feet wet" year and we really are realistically looking at next year 2022 as our competition window then we have some time to find our 3 down TE. But man ... Hooper seemingly checked all the boxes. Wes Schweitzer - sounds like hes our version of Bergstrom. Plays all over the line, ideal as depth guy but is a great locker room guy. Honestly Id rather have this guy for his contract vs Flowers at 10M AAV. https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4078117-schweitzer-to-the-redskins/
Im really interested to see how they use Fuller...I don't think he is an outside Corner. Slot Corner who in some packages could be a safety. Fuller is a playmaker tho. I like the Schweitzer signing because it was a sign of a solid plan if they lost Flowers. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
Hooper didn't check all boxes, he's just best of a mediocre crop. Mediocre blocker, which we've lacked at TE for years. Draft is light on TEs so maybe we're seeing whether we coukd get Hunter or Njoku in a swap with TW?
Hope we go after Boston at least. Looks like a good fit. |
Well how far can you go with that really? Some cities will always have an advantage when it comes to cost of living, weather, schools, etc.
The Patriots play in Taxachusetts so obviously that hasn't hurt them.
Yeah I see your point, but I think there are some fairly cut and dried differences like state taxes which could be accounted for. In the end it depends on where the player wants to go , but we see so often that money talks and players often go for the highest offer |
The Cooper signing just shows players don't want come here. Hopefully RR can change that culture.
I had Cooper on my FF team last year; Dallas at the end of the season basically stopped going to him and he was all pissey. Surprised he went back. Paying him as the highest paid WR in the league would have been dumb; Cooper saved us from yourselves.
What I heard is that Washington drove up the cost of Cooper for Dallas. Cooper also wanted to stay in Dallas. Kind of a win for us costing Dallas cap money. “I love being a Dallas Cowboy,” Cooper said in March during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan. “I think about it almost every day. Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can’t beat it. I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for life. . . I do, I mean that whole-heartedly. I love Dallas. Just to have the opportunity to play on a different team, you see the changes and stuff like that. I feel like it's home. I feel like I want to live there for a long time." |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
You can keep Cooper. Don't want him. I just remember that Eagles game at the end of the season. Their season is on the line and he's out there dropping passes and running weak ass routes. I see why Gruden didn't want him. When you need him to be a pitbull he turns into a chihuahua.

Good to have Fuller back. He never should have left.
The Cooper signing just shows players don't want come here. Hopefully RR can change that culture.
A lot of people are saying this, but it completely ignores the tax implications. The skins reportedly offered Cooper $110 million; however, cooper would have had to pay 6% state income taxes here. There are no state income taxes in Texas, so its pretty much a wash. Cooper made it clear he wanted to stay in Dallas. He and Dak have a good relationship. Dallas traded to acquire him when he had a lot of doubters. So there is some loyalty there. If he had chosen to leave Dallas, sell his home, leave his friends, relocate his family, to end up netting, after taxes, slightly more to play for a division rival, it would have been a huge F. U. to Dallas. So I really don't think Cooper's decision is even a remotely an indictment that players don't want to come here. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
Fact remains Dallas are closer to competing right now, thats why Cooper , and Hooper for that matter, would likely have better options

Keim says the skins are talking to E. Sanders , he's old but still solid

He turned 33 today, happy birthday. A 4 year deal with an acceptable 2 year out would not be bad. Hes productive. |

I'll take him with a smile on my face. One of my favorite non-skins players in the NFL. |

Good vet to help the young receivers

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
No need to be signing 33 year old wr's.

Same, him working with McLaurin (Who he reminded me of on draft night) on things will only help. He is still productive |

If they are still productive and will agree to sign a reasonable contract, there is a need imo. He would make our team better. |
