I hope he stays i just dont think he will stay if we dont even tho he's making progress |
Re: Is Carlos Rogers overrated?
Let's not get down on Carlos Rogers. Some people must be suffering from short term memory because earlier in the year, Rogers has made some good plays. He gets burned for one play and now he is a bust. No way. Every cornerback gets burned at some time. Its especially tough when your front four can't generate any pressure on their own and you continually have to blitz linebackers and defensive backs to generate pressure. Having Sean Taylor injured doesn't help either.
If by the 10th game of the season the coaching staff doesn't think you're ready to start, and Walt Harris is considered better than you, I'd say that's not a good sign.
He hit the nail and thats what I 've been tryign to say all along if a top 10 pick with no pro bowl competition in his position isn't sarting so far this season that tells you something is wrong. The coaches don't trust him even more if you have a guy like Harris who's getting beat up and still yo udon0t start your top pick something is wrong. |
Re: Is Carlos Rogers overrated?
Again, Rogers missed a lot of valuable time this summer with an injury, and he hasn't been 100% for most of the season.
Nothing is wrong, he just hasn't earned his time... yet. |
Re: Is Carlos Rogers overrated?
Thas Bull crap he missed time thsi summer yes so did Spears for us he didn't play untill the last game of preseason because of a knee injury and he has started at DE the last 3 games. He missed more time than Rogers did. Thats no excuse he has been trainning for 10 weeks now plus the time he had before the season.
It's easy he hasn't shown he's capable of handeling the position thats it. |
Re: Is Carlos Rogers overrated?
d-line is probably easier to transition...i mean u dont have to run to keep up with recievers and learn coverages and shit...
|
Re: Is Carlos Rogers overrated?
Ok you win cowcrap fan, we should just cut Rogers now since it's obvious he's not going to improve with time.

Interesting read, but that article is about the toughest position to play, not the toughest transition. I agree that corner is one of the tougher positions to play, but if you're a top ten pick, you should already know how to cover a receiver. |

good point. I'll have to go back to the lab and look for another article |
Re: Is Carlos Rogers overrated?
still shows that comparing spears to rogers doesnt work. think about it. what does a DE do? he rushes the passer and stops the run. very few designed plays for them. CB has to learn all the defensive coverages, which says it all
