Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Great gameplan so far. Short quick hitting high percentage passes to get Brunell's confidence going, and they're leaning heavily on the ground game.
Bingo. It's all about everyone's confidence with Al's system. If we hold on for this win, that will be a tremendous boost. |
I'll take the 14/14 on Brunell but I do remember him throwing one out of bounds and a guy for the Texans on the sidelines caught it.
Wiped out by holding.
Great gameplan so far. Short quick hitting high percentage passes to get Brunell's confidence going, and they're leaning heavily on the ground game.
I know, I mean, who's idea was that one?

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
No. The Texans defense is not good. But remember, there is NO such thing as an easy road game in the NFL. It is far easier to have offense at home than on the road. So for this team to go into Houston and put up 21 in the first half is really impressive.
I also love how Saunders is mixing in more multiple TE formations. It's keeping the offense unpredictable, keeping Brunell on his feet and in rhythm, and keeping the chains moving.
I hear ya. I am not crapping on 21 unanswered points. As far as I am concerned, the 1st two games are still preseason games. What I saw, I did not like. Your road game theory would hold true for most teams, but I really do not think this is true for the Texans. I will believe that the more we do this week, the harder it will be for Jacksonville to prepare. This game (home or away) is the easiest of the next ten. |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Thanks GT, you're right. Good job for Mark.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Give Brunell credit when deserved. He played a good first half.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
On a side note: Frost is actually looking like an NFL punter. I think Matty has been putting a bug in his ear.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Keep firing.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
16/16. Also, no one believed me when I said that Randle El would be more involved in the offense than Lloyd. Watch a long bomb to Lloyd here...

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
For the record, Rich Gannon holds the consecutive completions record at 21 set in 2002.
Brunell for MVP? (kidding) |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
I'd like to thank Sam Rosen for trying to jinx Brunell's completion streak.
Dick. |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Do these guys even have a pass rush?
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
I even think they had 5 dbs in
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
21 for 21, whatever they have done it is working. I hope it isn't just the Texans being terrible.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
He just tied Gannon.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
I want this win as bad as anyone, but is he this good or are they that bad
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Streak still alive after the penalty? Rosen thinks so, but I'm not sure.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Ohhh They want to run up the score so we can look at the Backup QBs.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Misery to ecstacy...Never boring with the Redskins.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
streak should still be intact
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
At least I think 21 is the record...I'm saying that off memory from watching Gannon play the Broncos that monday night.
Hey remember when the Raiders were good? |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Is this some funny shit with Brunell or what??
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!!!!!! HAIL VICTORY BRAVES ON A WARPATH!!! (anyone WANNA FINISH THAT SONG!?)
21/21....What ever critics said about Mark....they can shut the hell up right now! 247 yards 1 td....Id hate to say it...but mark brunell is now a key player in this offense...Go mark show em u aint too old to play this game!!! |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
I want this win as bad as anyone, but is he this good or are they that bad
Texans are that bad, but we really needed a confidence boosting game. |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
streak should still be intact
Apparently it is. My thought was that if a roughing penalty occured after a completion, it would be assessed after the play, which seems to say the play happened. Oh well. |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
OK, Sonny just confirmed my thought.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Dumb call, I think it will be overturned.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
BS call will be reversed
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Brunell is 21 for 21 which ties an NFL all-time record for consecutive completions (Rich Gannon with the Raiders).
If he gets one more completion he sets the record! |
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Knee? Please?
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
portis was down.

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
These bastards will say its inconclusive
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Cool - I was wrong
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
I am happy. :)
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
So are the Skins this much better because Portis is back or because the Texans suck donkey balls?
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
You gotta love 9 minute drives
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
Now we just need another 21 points to tack on and I'll consider it an apology for the first two miserable games.
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
texans have the worst defense in the nfl, but we are a lot better on offense
|
Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)
So are the Skins this much better because Portis is back or because the Texans suck donkey balls?
