Buges should team him to play center...best pass-blocking EVER lol. |
Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
If this dude is healthy, he may actually provide us a run game on the right side this year!

YES! This guy looks like he can throw defenders half way to the moon. 410 pounds, looking like a lot of muscle on there boys! Hopefully he still has the skill he had when he was drafted 4th overall! |
Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
I hope he makes the team as an outside linebacker.

Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
Wow! A Beast in the rough! He is a monster! Can he move or is he just a statue?

Again heres what Mike Williams looks like right now. It's really not nearly as bad as you guys think. If anything our current lineman (Samuals and Thomas) look like they're underweight.
Man, I've never seen a 400 lb guy keep that belly flab down (he must have sucked it in)! Man, this guy is really serious about starting at RT, which is very encouraging. |
Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
Who needs a line who can block when you've got guys who look like they can block!
Doc Walker was on 980 yesterday raving about how this guy looked in drills yesterday! I'm not saying he is the answer at RT...but, I am encouraged!!!
I liked him in a recent interview too. He said he planned on losing the weight and being ready for the workouts in June. He sounded real and like he meant it and had a good attitude. If nothing else we could put him in on goal line situations and he could give a strong push into the end zone. Bridges, Williams, Heyer, and Jansen sounds like a better line situation than a lot of other teams and it's got potential. Personally I think everybody should get a shot ... 1st down - Heyer 2nd down - Williams 3rd down - Jansen 4th down - Bridges |

Isn't Mike Williams supposed to be agile as a cat? (there, hijack safely ended - but just by a whisker).

Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
I am starting to believe that this guy is going to be our starter. Did anyone else see Williams on Redskins Nation. He almost knocked Dockery over with his hand punch. He looks like a mammoth man, of mostly solid muscle. If he plays Clinton will never not get a yard, when we need it. I am starting to love this guy.

I thought it was interesting that he said he was'nt very big growing up. One of the positions he played in HS was running back. He is a HUGE man, no doubt. I think he has a good chance of making the team and maybe starting. |

Yeah, I thought he was a joke when I heard they signed him, but after looking at the dude, he is an absolute monster. He made dockery look like a tail back. I got pretty excited watching him. Especialy when I saw Bugel tutoring him one on one. |

I like his dedication, and if he can stay healthy, we may have struck gold. I think he's been impressive so far. At least from the little I've seen of him and the reports I've read. |
Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
Ok ok i'll admit i'm starting to climb on the Mike Williams bandwagon too LOL.
...honestly I think it's all about him staying healthy and dedicated. Obviously he's got the talent and the physical gifts, but it sounds like bum injuries and a lack of focus and intensity held him back. I read in one article he just didn't commit himself to football after being drafted 4th overall...as in taking vacations instead of practicing w/ the team etc. He definitely sounds dedicated at this point and losing 60lbs over the last few months is really impressive. Hey, aren't we due a diamond in the rough on the offensive side of the ball anyway? When/who was the last one? |

Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
Maybe Williams could play RT and RG at the same time and save us a roster spot. :)

Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
If we're fortunate enough big Mike will have the potential to play LT by Week 8. Key word potential. I hate to think what would happen to us if Samuals went down again.

Reading about 400 Lb mike Williams reminded me...happy mothers day mom!

He was never considered a LT prospect, always played at RT. I don't see that changing. |

Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
Could you see a line up of
Samuals Dockery Jansen Bridges Williams This would be one heavy O-line to push around. Keep the rest for when one needs a breather or gets hurt. |

For just one snap I'd like to see him at guard next to Rabach...the only guy left sub 300. |

Or have him at tackle with either Cooley or Davis next to him. LOL. |

He's to good (when healthy) in pass protection to warrant a move inside. Ironically coming out of college his pass blocking was considered much better then his run blocking. Thats mainly why I suggested he could serve time at LT should, god forbid, Samuals went down. Apparently though Williams has always played RT. It's just that part of the reason he was so highly regarded in 2002 was because he protected the blind side for a southpaw at Texas. |

Jansen could hold his own against bigger NT's better than Rabach. |
Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
Mike Williams could be our next Ed Simmons, a solid non-flashy RT.

Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
This doesn't make the FO look good. They can't possibly be banking on this guy contributing.

Apparently the FO can only do wrong, can't get credit if something go's right. |
Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
If it works out it could be a great move, if not there's little risk involved so who cares?

Re: Skins Sign O-Lineman Mike Williams
