Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
orakpo is a damn beast
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
This team needs to dig up a place for Lendy Holmes.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
In my opinion, it's not a good sign when the 2nd team Offense can't produce against the 2nd team Defense. Just goes to show the depth Pittsburgh has right now. Hopefully, our guys will be able to pick it up. Not trying to be pessimistic. Anyone else have a say on this?

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
damn, the Steelers always complete the pass when they really need to...

agreed, and this defense is not stopping anything.. |

It's that ALL of our three backs are out of the game, and you can't play offense with Marcus Mason/Dominique Dorsey.
Get Cartwright in there and we probably move the ball. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
I think this is a catch...
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
looks like 14 -3 fellas...
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
wow, finally the Steelers are fizzling out...
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
3rd and 20 and you run a draw play? I'd be hot if I were a Steelers fan
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
man were we lucky to have orakpo still available
|

no doubt, there are going to be some teams kicking themselves for not taking him earlier. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
see that's the shit that we need.. those types of throws
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
effin hackett though ugh
good gain with kelly there |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
orakpo's final stats 1 tackle, 3 assists, 1 sack...not too shabby
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
I honestly do not feel comfortable with JC as our QB past this year unless something majorly changes
|

he had a sack? |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
I thought Hackett got two feet in.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
ahh christ
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
he had a sack?
It was that bad snap. He was the first guy there.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
Collins has such a cupcake arm.

he dropped it didn't he? |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
now, was that Thomas' fault? or should Collins have thrown it?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
Just missed the interception...but I'm going to just assume it was Devin Thomas' fault. Right, Tripp?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
wasn't grant
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
no good
but that doesn't really do anything for us |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
...halftime, time to see colt for the third..
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
Theismann says Thomas waited for the ball -- while the DB drove in for it...
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
seemed to me that Thomas was well covered...
|
Just missed the interception...but I'm going to just assume it was Devin Thomas' fault. Right, Tripp?
Uh, it was thrown at him, but I thought Collins' ball just was thrown into coverage that he doesn't have the arm to fit.
How much of that is Devin, probably not much. I'm thinking Campbell puts it on him. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
Oh well, nice drive for the starting offense against the Steelers starting D -- but the fake punt helped...
Still wouldn't mind seeing them actually put the ball in the endzone though. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
First Half
The Good: Orakpo, Descent first team Oline play, Portis is the man The Bad: Secondary got carved by Charlie Batch...freakin Charlie Batch The Ugly: QB play, Collins played ok last couple games...but against 2nd team D |

Campbell was pretty good on third down, but he didn't have a completion on first or second down. Part of that was bizarre playcalling with the deep balls, and the rest of it seemed to be just runs. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
If sellers injury is serious, then we'll probably get Lorenzo Neal. Just watch.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
Through six quarters of preseason...
3 points scored 30 points surrendered JC is 4/13 for 38 yards Orakpo looks ok...needs some work in pass coverage Special teams is suspect. At least Suisham made the X-tra Point (x 3) Defense looks similar to what it has looked like in years past. Can't stop the third down play. Overall, I'm not convinced this team is much better than they were last year. But it is only six quarters. And it is just preseason. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
Man, Orakpo is a stud... he seems to be in on every play. Theismann is dead wrong saying Thomas waited on the ball while the defensive guy moved towards it. It was a soft pass into coverage and the defensive guy just ran in front and caught it. I didn't see Thomas sitting there waiting for the ball on the replay.
Lets see now... 6 quarters and 3 points. Hmmmm...... |

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Game Thread
Sam Huff has really become a sorry, sorry man. He's going off about how can London Fletcher expect to be a pro bowler if the best he can do is one tackle in the first preseason game (which, according to Huff, was nationally televised). The sooner he's let go of his radio duties, the better.
Seriously. He was talking about how Orakpo went to Oklahoma before Sonny and Larry corrected him. You'd think knowing what college the #1 draft pick attended would be mandatory for a broadcaster on the Redskins Radio Network. Senility is sinking in. |
