Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
clausen is by far the best QB in the draft...not even close.
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Is Clausen even in the draft?
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
my "snyder sense" has us blowing two drafts worth of picks to move up and take bradford in the top 3... not saying it's a smart move, i'm just predicting it...
before you scoff, my snyder sense told me we would burning stacks of cash for haynesworth this summer, and it told me we would be throwing away two first rounders on chad johnson the summer before... so, it's pretty savvy... |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Clausen is a JR...he has 1 more year at ND if he wants it.

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I hope we don't start over with a new QB.
But, if we do we might as well grab an OL in the 1st then get Tebow in the 2nd. Tebow doesn't have the biggest arm but the dude makes plays. He's tough as nails and the kid is a natural leader. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
From Twitter: @SI_PeterKing So good to see Tebow take his team downfield. I'm rooting for him to be better than the scouts think. Shanahan thinks he's high 1st-rd pick.
I hope he's not there for us when Shanahan is on the clock. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I don't know? From what I've seen Tebow knows how to win. That could be a problem in Washington. Collins all the way byatches!
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I was so thrilled to see Tim back on the field tonight. He's our heart and soul. The guy is simply amazing. It's great to be Florida Gator! BTW that Florida defense is absurd, and I would love to score Brandon Spikes to be London's suitor.
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
What tebow has which no other player entering the draft has is the power and will to fight and win, he wants to win no matter what
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
If Bradford can pass a physical. I would go with him as the best shot. The rest. NO!!!!! Uncapped season next year. I would keep JC and Colt. Then bring in Bradford. If not I would look for a free agent if one is out there. If we go with the above formula. We at least has JC as a back-up to Bradford. Or we can let Bradford work himself into the line-up. I woulnd't feel comfortable with the other QBs and iffy with Bradford because of his shoulder. But if he is healthy he would be my pick.
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I don't watch alot of college football but I did watch LSU vs Florida. Tim Tebow is a great college football QB but he will not excel in the pros at the position. He is not a pocket passer and he doesn't take snaps from under center. He will have a very difficult time making the transient from the college QB to a full time Pro QB. He maybe suited for the WildKat package but in Washington we don't even use it with ARE. I would take Spikes or the TE Hernandez before Tebow. So know Tebow is not the solution.
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I admire Tebow , he is a winner and very tough . As far as Qb's and winning in college ,it does not always translate in the NFL ... Lienhart,V.Young ,Quin,T.Smith,Leak,J.Russell,T.Couch . I would look at Bradford or McCoy early .... maybe ? What about the QB from Arkansas , he looks good . OL OL OL and OL .

Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
speak about native american curses, remember the 1992 superbowl in minnesota the protesting indians said we will never have another winning season until we change our name, what have we been in 2 playoff games since?
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Whoever . . . . I wouldn't want JC to throw jack.
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Tebow might be a good fit here however if we do not address the O line it does not matter if we bring Peyton Manning here, until our line is taken care of qb's are going to have a tough time doing much of anything in DC.
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Tebow is a very risky draft pick. He has all of the intangibles of a great nfl quarterback, but is lacking in proven nfl quarterbacking skills.
I think you only draft him, if the head coach feels strongly about it. Like Gruden. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Is Jeff Garcia still available? He isn't the answer, but he's part of the solution. The first thing we should do is get some solid offensive linemen. And maybe Buges has lost his touch.
Nobody expected Kyle Orton to do much of anything in Denver, but he has a solid offensive line, along with backs who can run the ball. We need to solve the O-line problems, then get some backs that have a little bit of gas in their tanks. Go Portis, anywhere! |

JC wouldnt stay just to groom someone else to take his job a yr later. He is a FA and IMO he goes elsewhere next season. either the team lets him go or he tells the FO to kiss his arse. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Listening to Tony Dungy on Espn today. When asked who would be his pick of any QB avaliable in the upcoming draft, his reponse was "Tim Tebow. He is a superior leader, smart, adequate passer and adds a running threat. Quality team guy and character".
This may be an option worth thinking about for the Skins as he may not command a high draft pick. Our line for some time will not be All-pro and our FRANCISE qb may not be available for a year or two? Tebow can buy time in and out of the pocket. He adds the running dimension. And we can adopt our own version of the Wildcat, until some of our components come together during the "rebuilding of the Redskin empire". During the turn-around, he may be the stop-gap answer we need |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Sometimes I watch Tebow and I think this could really change the sport. Other times I see him and I think sure he'd be nice to have on the team as some sort of hybrid back but I'd rather have Clausen, McCoy, or Robinson as my QB

Worse than that he continued to play Shaun King. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
He may have, but.............he knows a thing or two about talent and....Winning
|
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I really like Tebow and he has all of the intangibles (which is really skills that can't be measured by stats or easily analyzed with x and o's) of a great nfl qb. BUT he currently wouldn't be a good fit for the redskins because of his quarterbacking style - unless the redskins rebuild the offense around him (which could be an option, if you have the patience to rebuild the offense).
You have to assume that his style of play will not change coming out of college. This is the style he is used to and will lean on when he runs into problems. If you prefer an offense that has a quarterback which looks to run the ball, then Tebow should be your number 1 pick. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
Today Tebow broke Herschel Walker's SEC rushing TD record (50), and set the all time rushing yardage record in the SEC (2,567). Stomped on UGA yet again. Oh, and by the way, he threw a pair of TDs, one of which was a perfect touch pass to the corner of the endzone where only Riley Cooper could haul it in. My boy can ball.

Didnt he also build one of the NFL's alltime laughingstocks into a SB winner? Ill let him slide on King. |

That's why we need to draft Tebow to be our next running back...and then trade him in a year for like 8 draft picks and 4 players |

yea, i'm with you smoot. personally,i like McCoy. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
i dont really like tebow, as a matter of fact i dont like many players who are hyped this much, but he is an amazing player and would be great for our team. id love if we drafted him.

That's constructive. |
Re: Tebow: Is he the Redskins solution?
I am all about getting Tebow because he could fall to the second round or low first we could trade up and get him spend our high first on a O lineman
