WASHINGTON, D.C. - These days, disappointed Redskins fans are looking for someone to blame. And for many, that someone is owner Dan Snyder. Some among Redskins Nation are calling for Snyder to sell the team, while others hope he'll eventually take a more hands-off approach.

Power of the people. That's what Redskins fans say they're using to try to convince owner Dan Snyder to either sell the Skins, or at least back off a bit.

Charles Tomasch and Chris Mitchell went to high school together in Annandale. They've teamed up with friends to create the website [url]www.sellourteamdannyboy.com[/url] .

The guys are lifelong Skins fans. Chris painted the first car he ever owned burgundy and gold. They took it to games when the Redskins soared. After this season's Carolina game, he towed it back from Charlotte with the flag upside down-- a sign of distress.

The guys are trying to raise about $8,000 to buy 'Sell Our Team Danny Boy' ads on Metro buses.

"I'm not one to just sit around and complain. I feel like if you're gonna be a complainer, you gotta go out and do something," said Charles.

Charles has dropped his season tickets. Chris still has his tickets, but they're urging fans to skip games and if they go, buy nothing.

"If we don't show up, Dan Snyder literally owns a bunch of concrete and copper in the middle of Landover," said Charles.

By the way, it wasn't just the Jetta. Until a few months ago, Charles had a burgundy and gold van. He traded it in during Cash for Clunkers.

So this thing is on pace to fall 2K-3K short of the goal unless the MLM guys put up the rest on the deadline.

They say the weekend box office revenues of Hollywood movies halve with every week the movie is released. This will probably lose steam and even fall short of the current pace it's on.


It's still pretty cool that you guys got a segment on the news though.

Skinny Tee - yeah at the current pace we are going to fall short, but we are honestly getting more and more site hits every day.

We are also working on having a benefit event at a bar, where the 5-15 cover goes to this. Plus we are in contact with Mervis Diamond and are working on something with them. Also i am not sure if the bye week is going to work for us or against us.

I would say there is a pretty good chance of this happening. But the most important thing we need is more people joining the cause, and not just sitting back watching and complaining. We need more 5 and 10 dollar donations more people spreading the word!

I was just watching the news and saw the interview. I was checking the WP to see if anyone was talking about it. Turns out the founder is here...

I highly doubt that this will make Snyder do anything...it will just piss him off. He is still going to make a shitload of money with the Redskins - winning or losing. The Redskins are a business to Snyder, not a team...

I posted this on another thread, sorry for the repeat: I would not be surprised to see soething drastic come out of the FO very soon. Possibly a major personnel shake-up (we can only hope it's VC) or maybe DS breaks his media silence. I just have a gut feeling something big is on the horizon.

First off the people who think that DS does not loose money when the team is loosing no nothing about Business. Yes, he will still make money but he will not make near as much as he would if he was winning games and going to the playoffs. So to say he does not care about winning because he only cares about making money makes no sense as the two go hand and hand. Just take our local 7/11 which has a section that sells hats and stuff of different teams. Last year when we were winning all the skins stuff was sold out and this year it looks like they have sold nothing skins related. Now X that by all the places selling skins stuff and it is costing DS a bunch of money.

Snyder has never spoken to the media during the season, so at least he's been consistent with that. It's not something new.
