Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
May I ask if you are High???????? LOL No way Indy would let Peyton go, plus we can't trade an entire draft for a 34 yr old QB.
LOL...just throwing it out there. Peyton still has 5 good years left in him. The Colts might do it due to his age...and we are dumb enough to offer it. HAHA |
Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
Jay, Peyton would get destroyed with our line in its present form. Samuels is probably going to retire also, maybe followed by Thomas. We also don't have the organization, or the top talent he has in Indy. He would give us a few more wins, but not a Lombardi trophy.
Peyton knows when to get rid of it, and he knows where all his wr's are at that very time. He's not afraid to let the ball fly after holding it for 1 second. I know it's a pipe dream, and I certainly have a man crush on peyton...but come on, you wouldn't give up all the picks next year for him? Especially knowing we will likely be uncapped? |
Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
Peyton Manning .. why is this conversation even happening ? This is borderline retarded, at least come up with ideas that make some sort of sense ... like bring back Jeff George
|
Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
i feel as though this conversation only really matters after we sure up the line in front of the dude taking snaps. this team has gone too long without addressing the o-line problems. i know we have all said this a million times, but it has to be done.

Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
I would start JC or Colt next year after taking Dan Lefevour in the 3rd/4th round. (I think he may fall a ways just because of all of the "big" names rumored to be coming out.)
EDIT: For the record, I'm aware the Skins don't have a 3rd, but they could trade in if they needed to. |

Yeah, I've been enamored with him since the Motor City Bowl in 07 and I've kept my eye on him since then. If he falls that far, I'd definitely take a chance on him. For the record, I also really like Matt Grothe coming out of USF, but I don't think he's tall enough to make it work in the NFL. |

3rd round or possibly trade up into the mid - late 2nd round - GET TONY PIKE. Im telling you guys, Tony Pike reminds me of a slightly more accurate Flacco with much better NFL ready physical attributes. Watch this guy take off. Franchise quarterback flying under the radar.
We spent our 3rd rounder on Jarmon in this years supplemental draft. |
Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
I think we will look in FA or see what we can get out of TC or CB while we use our picks on more pressing needs-Oline and RB-. Eitherway i think JC is gone,FO doesnt want him and im sure the season cant end fast enough for him so he can get out of here.

Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
On the Jets/Dolphins MNF game the announcers were saying that Bill Parcells has a 'minimum' formula for drafting QB that I'd be interested to see the career paths of:
-4 years in college -3 year starter -24 wins -Graduated college Do any of the projected top QB's fit that criteria? |

Colt McCoy, Lefevour, Tebow, Max Hall, Zac Robinson, Dominic Randolph |
Booty signed with the Titans today...practice squad
He could be starting for them by the end of the season with the way things are going for them! Let's be real, it COULD be worse...we could have a great coach like Jeff Fisher and still winless with no defense. |

There must be more players as well that I'm just missing |
Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
Vinny's pick = Sam Bradford (a real bargain since he's all broken up)
Dan's pick = Tim Tebow (Flashy Player / Big Name) Smart picks = Colt McCoy, Jevan Snead (If you want them to play in 2011) Dumb ass picks = all of them are if your just going to throw a number 1 draft pick into the grinder. My pick = PineApple Jesus or Jevan Snead if he falls to the second round. I doubt that will happen. Collins is too old to play now. Maybe we can use him for a rebuilding year? Reason: Okung or Williams |

I doubt Brennan will be here if Zorn isn't

I was just saying i dont see any of these guys being good pros. either way i hope our FO fixes the Oline and it wont be an issue for us to deal with. Early mocks have us taking the OT from OU. i would be very pi$$ed if we went after a different position. |

I will not be either if Vinny is. I'll not sit through another draft with that schmuck building our team. |

Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
I really think this offseason could be excellent if we play our hand correctly and some of our picks pan out the way we'd like.
1st round - No question here. Best Tackle available. We can't keep that a secret. 2nd round - Best guard available. Very likely that both of these picks will start in the upcoming season. With those three picks, keeping Samuels (fingers crossed), Derrick Dockery and Levi Jones and possibly Williams for a backup guard position, I think our OLine could actually go from very bad to maybe even above average, given a little luck. Add onto this list the best free agent center on the market this offseason, and its definitely doable.
I think the Skins should be reluctant to trade up for picks. We need more picks not less, and trading up generally means trading away. |

Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
I don't watch much college ball so maybe someone can help me out here, if we were to take a QB, what QBs coming out are 3 or 4 year starters and would be ready to play right away?
|
Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
Well we don't have a 3rd rounder due to the Jarmon pick in the Supplemental draft. I'd like Bradford, McCoy, Locker, or even Clausen. Not sold on Pike's intangibles and the fact that he once became disinterested in football. That factor there would have him lose a tiebreaker to the aforementioned.
We desperately need to address the O-Line. Hopefully there is a new regime in place to make the decision on which direction to go at QB. If O-Line is addressed in the early rounds, Personally, I'd try to decide on the best young vet to give a second chance to while rebuilding. Those that come to mind are: (R. Grossman, K. Clemens, K. Boller, T. Jackson, D. Carr, J. Harrington). All are 2010 free agents and I'd bet that one of these current busts turns out to have a decent career. The task will be for the GM to identify which one. Lets pray that Vinny is not making this decision. If we draft a QB in round 1, we should attempt to sign an older vet, perhaps Charlie Batch or Jeff Garcia, depending which one fits the new coach's scheme. Also, all of the Colt Brennan apologists on this thread need to relax. Once we get a real coach in here Brennan will be released or beat out in camp. I have inside information that informed me that ONE of the FEW reasons Brennen was kept was the fact that his Jersey sales were much more favorable to Chase Daniel's. And yes that same person also told me that the sales had something to do with how female skins fans feel about Brennan's looks. This is a FOOTBALL TEAM not a FASHION MAGAZINE! Can't wait till the offseason! I truly believe that the owner will wise up and get some real people to run this team. |

I think Clausen could play right away but he doesn't fit under your criteria. Instead you'd be looking at guys like Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, Dan Lefevour, Max Hall, Riley Skinner, Dominic Randolph (sleeper out of Holy Cross), and Zac Robinson |

No...it's the other way around. Nick is the starter and Trevor Gretzky is the backup. Will Smith's son is also on that team though he hardly payed when I watched the game. |

This is the first year i've thought that too. There's just too much pressure coming from the outside. Those looking for a one year turn around are going to be disappointed. There are just too many holes. I mean, we are talking 2 or 3 full drafts or more to revamp this team and get some talent. Not, VC drafts either...good drafts. Hopefully our new FO can improve this area. We're looking at QB, 2 RB's, 2-3 OL, CB, WR-maybe. I wouldn't be opposed to a stop gap QB or JC while rebuilding. |

QB is not going to make a difference until we put a competitive line together. We could trade for Brady but even he wouldn't make a difference with our line. Save the names for year after this coming offseason. |

Re: Your next QB for the Skins?
You need a QB regardless. Even if JC stays in the fold, Collins might opt out and retire. Brennan is junk and should be discarded ASAP.
