It didn't sound like either had really been in touch with the team on a new contract. Griffin is contemplating retirement and Rock is ready to move on to a winning team. We cut them so we'll find someone to replace them.

I'd rather have Rock than CP, with some rooks behind him. CP is a cancer and I don't remember seeing his name on the list? If Griff retires, so be it.

I understand you not liking CP. He is very divisive, but you aren't thinking rationally if you would rather have Rock.

Rock had every opportunity last year and proved that he couldn't get the job done. Then he complained to the media.

To me these were all good moves. We've been w/ some of these guys a while now and really have done much. Griff is pretty much done and will never reach his 04 05 years. Smoot, ARE, Rock, Thomas....is anyone saying we should keep these guys????

Are you really surprised at even one name that got the axe?

All but maybe Griff have already over extended there stay in DC IMO.

If anything they are cleaning up the books to get a few real football players in here. This is a good start.

I like it. these guys needed to go. No time to have any personal feelings towards any of the players on our roster. This is going to be a newly built football team not a bunch of Gibbs leftovers. New blood is much needed at redskins park.

Yeah really, who can really be surprised at any cuts that will be made. Only a handful of guys could be deemed untouchable or good trade bait on our roster. WE all have our fav players, etc, but these guys really are the epitome of mediocrity.

No surprises here. Well, actually there were a couple of more guys that were close to being cut but...made the cut it seems.

But this is what we talked about a couple of weeks ago. That there would be major changes to the current roster. Shanahan and Allen have no loyalties to anyone on the roster and they've never been afraid to make changes

And there's more to come. Skins seem really intent on shipping Rocky and Campbell out ideally by this weekend (regardless of what they're saying).

Lots of Browns rumors floating around. Some good, some not so good. Depending on your perspective I suppose.

I'm ok with Campbell being shipped out as long as there's a solid plan to overhaul this line to protect whatever rook we get at QB. If Rocky and Campbell result in picks, I'm all for it. Just as long as whatever they do is good for the team, I'm all for it.

I don't get the move to trade Rocky. I could see him bulk up a bit and play ILB in a 3-4...obviously he's not an edge-rusher. I wonder if the drive to trade him means we're def getting Dansby?

Absolutely no surprises. Smoot lost his magic from the glory days when he first came on the scene when he was with Champ. ARE was a really big disappointment. Cartwright was a special teams journeyman. Betts was a decent backup, but was totally expendable. Thomas should have had a joint press conference with Chris and retired with him. He should have gone out that way as the handwriting was on the wall. Collins being released confirms a QB is going to be taken, but in which round?

Dude what are you smoking? Those guys are horrid. I know the Browns have their problems, but we are way better off using the second round pick to get another rook QB. This year is a banner crop for QBs. Get your franchise guy, then get another young guy as the 3rd stringer that might actually compete for the starting position. I mean if we do trade JC, that leaves us only with Brennan, and that experiment is a bit shaky.
