He played LT at MD, but from what I hear he'll be a better RT than LT in the pros.
At this point i think he falls to us. Unfortunately i think we don't take him for whatever reason. If we did, we become one G away from a formidable offensive line. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
hells yes...campbell will be phenominal for us ... opening day RT if he comes to us...but what of artis hix? is that his name?

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
So, 4 more picks in front of us.................Rams, Vikings, Bucs and Texans. I think if the Rams don't take him we can will be able to pick him up. (Campbell)
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
Campbell would be great due to his combine numbers, but he has gotten schooled has little experience, and is a bit dumb....here is a great writeup on him...
I gotta tell you though...I will be JACKED UP...if we get him...sure he could easily bust...but...we are talking a 4th rounder...some Mocks had him a mid first round prospect if you could believe it....doesn't make sense since first rounders are based off of dominant play over combine numbers...but the guy should have easily gone mid 3rd round at latest IMO Bruce Campbell, Maryland, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
Campbell's dropped pretty significantly due to supposed durability issues (brain operation) and drive. This guy is a 2nd round talent, however. Very big and fast. Taller, faster, and longer arms than trent williams. I don't think Shanny pulls the trigger here (in order to address other needs), but this would be a steal.

He can play guard, RT...Campbell may be a little too slow to be a starter after 1 preseason, but come on...it is a 4th round pick...when do you get a starter out of a 4th? |

I thought about that to, until I realized MS took Maurice Clarett in the 3rd, so he's not afraid to pick suspect guys, and it might satisfy Synder need for a high profile pick. |

If he is still there I don't know why u wouldn't pull the trigger. I can't see us having a bigger need then along the OL. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
Look out for Myron Rolle. Redskins are looking for another Center Fielder. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if they passed on a tackle and drafted either a LB, RB, or FS. I mean I know Vinny isn't here any more but I don't think they feel the solution is to simply draft a bunch of lineman.

I'm an FSU fan and Myron Rolle cannot play FS. He is your typical in-the-box SS. |

I would agree that they wouldn't simply just draft lineman but when Campbell is still there at 103........i think u make that pick.

What time EST does the draft start tommorrow?
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
Shanny Loves mid-round RB's, I think he gets one here. Portis, Parker, and Johnson have high mileage and I don't think all three make the final cut before the regular season.

Can't believe day 3 starts at 10 am. I guess I'll get to see the sixth round.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
If we somehow miss Bruce Campbell (either pas or picked by someone else), I would mind going for Cirron Black.

Dude harsh. Killing my buzz. Still that leaves the door open for LB or RB. People are going to freak out tomorrow when the pick isn't a tackle. I would love it if it was but you rarely see teams taking that type of approach. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
Campbell has no real character issues other than really struggling through school. His college coach said he had to go to study hall when the rest of the team was practicing in the spring.

We have Lendy Holmes so who needs Myron Rolle. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
I hear people talking about his intelligence, but Campbell scored an 18 which was 4 higher than Mike Iupatu (14), and Sean Taylor who scored a 10. I don't think Sean was dumb, but he knew how to play football. Also Realize Campbell is 21 and his maturity level isn't there yet, so if we give the kid time he'll grow up kinda like ST.
Really I felt like Mayock has done an excellent job so far. I think it's obvious that while ESPN might have the big names and fancy graphics it's obvious that the guys on NFLN have much better chemistry. Not to mention better experts and information gathering.
I mean don't get me wrong ESPN has some smart guys on the set for their draft coverage but they keep interrupting each other which annoys the hell out of me. NFLN's guys wait for each other to finish a sentence. If I wanted to see people cut each other off I would watch The O'Reily Factor.
You hit the nail on the head. I think I switched over to ESPN twice during the entire draft coverage. The NFLN is quickly pulling ahead of ESPN when comes to NFL coverage. |

My bad, dude. I can definitely see us taking a RB or a LB with 103. |

Ha ha, thanks. I was hoping I wasn't the only one that felt that way about the networks. I mean for anyone else watching you'd see stuff like ESPN not knowing who was picked until maybe seconds before. Other times they got guys they were lucky enough to have cameras on at home. Look, when JLC breaks picks before Schefter you know somethings wrong. Other times they would just keep on talking while players were getting picked, and this was in the first round. Another thing I liked about NFLN though was they always had some noise in the background. ESPN kept cutting to interviews and studios where it's dead silent and their mic's didn't really pick up much background noise. I doubt thats a factor for 99.9% of people watching the draft but I thought it added a sense of being there. It also helped NFLN because the few times they did talk over picks early you could hear it announced in the background. I've had my TV on for the entire draft and I think that I've spent maybe 20 minutes on ESPN. The other infinity billion hours have been on NFLN. And keep in mind I felt like at the start of the draft that I was going to spend most of my time on ESPN.
My bad, dude. I can definitely see us taking a RB or a LB with 103.
Forget it. After that Rolle buzzkill I can't even talk to you anymore. You know what....You're an in the box safety. Yeah I showed you. |
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
If Trent Williams' athletic ability and quickness make him a good fit for our zone blocking scheme, then I would think that the same could be said for Bruce Campbell as a value pick at this point in the draft. I will be disappointed if he's still on the board at pick 103 and we pass on him.
|
Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
I wasnt on board with only talkin OT's in the draft like some were preaching. But that was before the possibility of Campbell falling to us in the 4th. If he's there when we go on the clock i dont see ANY reason to not pick him. How often can you lock up two tackle spots in one draft for the next 6 years? Campbell has bad tape out there but putting him on the right side will help him develop and he's still only 21. Gotta pull the trigger there

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Rounds 2-3
I just noticed Campbell ran the fastest 40 yard dash for an OL at the combine (4.85). He just missed the fastest time on the 20 yard shuffle (behind Trent Williams). He was pretty formidable on everything else, very athletic. We must not know something about this guy for him to be available this late (see Dez Bryant--irregular heartbeat)...

A) Why did Bruce Campbell drop this far?
B) The redskins should get a few of these mentioned players Everson Griffen, DE, USC Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland Eric Norwood, ILB, South Carolina Al Woods, DL, LSU Jason Fox, OT, Miami Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State Ricky Sapp, LB/DE, Clemson Arthur Moats, LB/DE, JMU Thaddeus Gibson, DE/OLB, Ohio State A.J. Obviously, Campbell has superior measurables, but a lot of scouts have been saying that his game film is absolutely terrible. I haven't watched Maryland enough to know how good of a player he is, so I have to take their word for it, but I wouldn't be opposed to taking him at 103 as a project with potential to boom or bust. |

I've seen both. I've seen games where he's thrown people to the ground (legally mind you) and I've seen games where he looks like a fish out of water. |

I wouldn't mind picking up Cam Thomas in the 5th (if he drops that far). He could be our future NT.

I'd love either of these 2 guys with our 4th. 1. Bruce Campbell 2. Joe McKnight |
