Don't think so. Alexander can't pass a physical right now, I don't think. So that's probably holding him back
He actually looks pretty good from his highlight reel. Why won't he pass the physical? Injury or drug related?

Maybe it's Tony's character thats the issue. Although I don't see a problem with it since we have others on the team with questionable character now. lol.

The surgery to repair the cartilage is the fourth operation he’s had on his left knee in less than three years. The first three were all ACL tears. ACL injuries aren't the career-enders they were 20 years ago. Nine in 10 athletes will recover after tearing the ligament the first time. It's the second time that does people in. Only three or four Missouri football players in the last 20 years have continued their MU careers after tearing an ACL twice. No one has come back after three. More than the physical trauma that surgery brings, it's the mental anguish of recovery that's often too much.

^Three knee sugreies to the same knee? If this guys wants to be able to walk when he is 30 he should not play in the NFL. I do not care how physically talented he is , his knee will not hold up to the rigors of the NFL. There is more to life than football...like walking.

I think I'd bring him in. We could have;
Moss
Thomas
Kelly (with knee issue's also)
Mitchell (in training to be a R.Moss type)
Alexander (on the PS getting healthy)

If and when he's healthy enough bring him along slowly and get him up to speed. That would give us one vet and several young (hopefully) talented WR's for the future.
interesting point for sure....

but keep in mind, between injuries and years as a back up, his legs are much fresher with much lower miles than Donovan McNabb. in fact, i'd MUCH rather have him as the backup in washington than INT-machine Rex.
Really? The offense Batch has played his entire career is absolutely nothing like thw WCO run by Shanahan. It would take him atleast a year just to get where Grossman is now. Grossman is someone i never want to see start for us, but he's familiar with the system and Shanahan evidently trusted him enough to be willing to let Campbell walk for a 2012 4th rounder. I'm way more confident in Grossman than I would be in Batch. Pittsburg is the only place in the NFL where Batch has a chance to make a roster, let alone be penciled in as a starter.

I'm more interested in his WR abilities. I honestly don't think any player will get much yards after the kick or punt with our blocking style. On a side note we have many players who are elligable to perform the KR/PR duties...

Moss
Thomas
Hall
Buchanon
Austin

Maybe Alridge. Did I miss anyone else?

This guy is quick, not fast. I throw the bullshit flag on his 4.38 speed. Its high 4.4's. I could see 4.48. At his size he should be faster but he's got the moves to make this still a solid pickup for us. If he had 4.38 speed he wouldnt be caught as often as he has in most of his returns and he'd have many more touchdowns.

you're right.
i fired off that post without considering scheme/style. in general, i do think Batch has more in the tank than others his age. and while Rex throws most of his completions to the guys in the other shirts, he knows the offensive from being with Kyle in houston so that's a plus. i was just hoping he was brought in to hold a clipboard and our #2 would be someone more reliable if pressed into action.

I wish Sears the best, but I don't think it would benefit the Redskins to take on such a challenge

At this point I don't know who they will have doing it. On Redskins.com they interviewed Buchanon and he said the coaching staff brought him in with the understanding that he would be the KR/PR. He was all excited about getting back to what he was doing originally when he was first drafted.

I keep hearing people talking about how the team needs a KR/PR and they should find a RB who can do the job.... no sense in having 3 RB's.

Now I keep hearing the team picked up Austin cause of his KR/PR abilities.

I think I'll go with the Buchanon interview since he's already on the team, a marginal CB, and has speed, and has done KR/PR duties previously.

doesn't have to be either/or. Moss has already done some punt returns for us. All of these guys might do some return work, or there is a competition for each spot. I seriously doubt Buchanon or Moss will return kickoffs though.

good observation, but they are timed running in a straight line w/no interupptions. Getting into high gear is a different story w/tacklers coming at you from different angles. He might not be as quick/fast changing directions.

another thing, if the combine results were 4.38 I believe that. What is always questionable is the colleges saying their players ran a 4.1 in practice. I remember people (coaches) saying Deangelo Hall ran a 4.1 at Va. Tech.

Terrence Austin wasnt invited to the combine. But i just checked out UCLA's pro day results and Terrance Austin's best timed 40 was a 4.48 lmao just like i had said. Damn i got a good eye haha. I could see Phillip Buchanon doing PR and Austin doing KR

Oh I agree 100%. But you have to take into context that it was after the game and the guy completly taunted him. Should you or any of us be judged at our worst moment? I think not. First time I've seen you acknowledge that what Blount did was wrong. Maybe you did before, but I missed it. Instead I've just seen you justify Blount's actions as a guy who let his emotions get the best of him...yet you don't afford the same courtesy to Hall.

Re: Undrafted Free Agents Signed

The Redskins signed two undrafted rookie free agents on Wednesday in Ohio State safety Anderson Russell and Liberty defensive lineman Trey Jacobs.

Russell, 6-0 and 205 pounds, started 43 of 44 career games over four seasons at Ohio State.

He recorded 194 career tackles, six interceptions, four forced fumbles and three sacks in helping lead Ohio State to four consecutive Big Ten Conference championships and back-to-back BCS National Championship appearances in 2006 and 2007, a Rose Bowl victory in 2010 and an overall record of 44-8.

Following his sophomore campaign, he was honored with the school’s Jim Marshall “Warrior” Award while also being named first-team All-Big Ten by Rivals.com.

Russell attended Marist School in Atlanta.

Jacobs, 6-4 and 295 pounds, played college football at Liberty, where as a senior captain he played in 11 games and recorded 37 tackles, two sacks, 10 passes defended, a fumble recovery and a blocked field goal.

Jacobs also tied a school record with four career blocked kicks.

As a starter over his last two seasons, Jacobs played in 23 games and combined for 77 tackles, including 10 for loss, and six sacks.

Born June 1, 1988, Jacobs attend Eau Claire (S.C.) High School.

Can we use initials?

I know what you mean. I too get scared when I see some names. lol.

Thats why I usually will add the first initial when dealing with a name on the team that more then one player has.

On a side note though I have used Campbell but when refering to either QB or OL, I add that piece of info.
