Not so much that either. Lavar and Chad are cool but IMO they come off a bit gimmicky. It's always the team sucks the team sucks but we like them. I mean pick what the hell you are going to go with. When the station started they made a point to say that they were not owned by Snyder and that they will say what they want but they will be unbiased. When, in fact they erall go the opposite direction. Is it all about ratings or giving me unbiased sportstalk ? That's my question. Chad lost all credibility with me when he bashed Jason Campbell right around the time I turned on him and once they got Jason on the show, he was a Campbell fan all of a sudden.

Be what you are, if you hate then hate. Don't mask it. And for him to be such a fan how is it that you forget that the Skins went to the playoffs Joe Gibbs' last year ? Oh I know, because Lavar said they didn't. If they get their personal feelings towards the Danny out of the way they can be alright. Negativity is cool, but when it's warrented. To me, they try a little too hard to sound like they are blazing new territory when I can listen to 980 and hear someone give their own opinion whether it be for the Skins or against. I don't watch Redskins Nation because I'm probably playing with my son, Playing Call of Duty, hitting a J, or watching something else. If you listen to Larry, Sonny, and Sam on the radio they are VERY critical when the Skins are sucking shit.

I can tell that you are one of those that sit in the choir loft as Chad preaches and Lavar says "get 'em". I understand that you like them but they aren't saints and they don't preach that much truth. If by truth you mean they talk a lot of shit, then hell they are. Bitterness and truth seem to go hand in hand with them.

to be honest, im a big lavar fan loved the way he played the game with passion yada yada yada but his show is hard to listen to for more than a few mins for me.

but tony kornheiser's show is they absolute worst....by far, hands down. for the 5 mins a day they do talk sports they get names wrong and i cant stand hearing the lady or the english guy talk football and they are im guessin supposed to be the stat/expert people since tony has clearly stated he has been done with covering or caring about sports years ago.

Can't listen to Tony. I guess I'm too young, I'm 33 and I feel like I'm way out of the loop.

Titans win was great. The team played hard and with heart. So what if Young went out, Skins wen't in nicked up and left nicked up some more. Big win, Good play by McNabb down the stretch even though he got saved by that pick that wasn't. Then again our guys had a couple of picks that went through their hands.

LOL effing classic....I try to catch Redskin Nation when I can, probably several time a week. I just like the access to players, FO interviews, kinda gives you some behind the scenes stuff that is cool. But of course Larry Michaels is over playing the rhetoric...but thats his job and you can tell half the time he knows it. But everyone knows sports radio like polical radio is all about over-the-top stupid rants...ratings

First off, big ups to Call of Duty. I like the way Lavar and Chad speak on topics with the passion of a fan, but I agree sometimes they can be a little immature about it. With that said, Lavar played for this team, under this ownership so I will pay a little more attention to the word of someone who's been there before.

You are right on that but something that bothered me about him playing for this team and all. When Chris Samuels retired there was nothing said about that, only that when he spoke very highly of Dan Snyder that you can't trust everything that people say when it comes to him ? Really ? Lavar was the first in a long line of "Danny's Favorites". I remember when Joe Gibbs came here and they were interviewing players because it was a big thing,...when they got to Lavar he. The same Lavar that said that Portis was wrong for telling coaches/ownership who they should pick up. The same guy that said that he never did this said, "I mean it's another coach. Nothing special to me. Nobody asked me anything about who should be here, pfft, I wanted Denny Green fro real." Same dude. I never forgot that. The same dude who when he was injured and Joe Gibbs told everyone that he was hurt and they were waiting for him to heal up because they didn't want to rush it. The same guy told everyone that he was fine and that he could've played before the San Fran game. After he played in that game and hurt himself again, told people that the Skins rushed him back ? Really ?

It's not so much where you worked to if I can trust you or not but what you say. your history and the truth that you actually speak. Sometimes he can give good insight but like I said sometimes they seem like they want to go farther in their negativity. Like there is a bar that they have to raise and it speaks to some fans. Just not to me. I listen because I like to hear their retarded ish sometimes. They are actually good when they don't talk the Skins, it's just then when they go overboard.

Sports radio in the DC area sucks big time. I've mentioned this before, but over the summer, during the NFL drought, I listened to podcasts of a Steelers radio show from ESPN Pittsburgh. Their offseason shows were a million times better than anything ESPN980 puts on during the regular season. Sometimes it's very tiring to hear them just b*tch and whine left and right. It's ridiculous. Now I get most of my Redskins news from here, I also listen to a couple of the NFL podcasts on ESPN (my favorite is Football Today).

How are they going to take a team that loses to the Lions and Rams every year serious? We have to give them something good to talk about if we want to HEAR something good on air. Oh so I should feel sorry for them. Now if you listen to Lavar and Dukes then maybe you listend to The Big O and Dukes show when 106.7 was a talk show station and not a sportstalk station. You also may have listened to Lavar when he was on the John Thompson show, as a Redskin, a Giant, and then as a retired player. You may have noticed a shift in their respective philosophies after getting paired up on what is now 106.7 the fan. I have no problem with them saying what they say, like I said it's when it's all about personal beefs rather than "unbiased" sportstalk. That's it. Brian Mitchell who many feel was a great Redskin talks about running backs and his career as if he was actually a stud. He wasn't. He can't tell me about how you should be a team leader and what would've happened in your day when as a "leader" you had the most undisciplined Redskins teams the I have seen. This, mind you was BEFORE Dan Snyder bought the team. Listening to him you would think that those teams were awesome wouldn't you ?

Lavar speaks of his career as if he was a stud and that everything was Dan's fault. Now understand that this is coming from a guy who was Dan's friend and his beef came about when he was "cheated" out of his money right ? But what he won't bring up is the fact that that very same agent was kicked out of the league because he wasn't doing everything the right way. Don't think about that, just think about the way that HE was wronged.

If there is nothing good to say then cool, but the same people that bitch and moan about things not going well told the fans when they played that we needed patience. Now you have a mic in your face you tell me that I should go to the games because the team is losing. And what do we do ? Just what they say.

I'm done, you're good with them. I listen but it's because they have a pretty good show and I'm a glutton for punishment. Do they speak the truth ? Not so much.

I don't think the Redskins winning or losing have to do with the shitty quality of the radio talk shows that much. If I want to hear a whole bunch of people complaining about the Redskins, I can stand in the mirror and complain to myself or come here and read a mindless rant posted by fans.

All that you hear from a lot of the shows around here is a lot of whining and complaining, the TMZ-like reporting of certain players/stories (Haynesworth, Portis, etc., etc.), and a lot of these hosts always having the need to sound like pr*cks everytime they criticize something and someone. For once I'd like to hear someone break down a game, talk from a football perspective, and provide some sound criticism of the team. And not hearing Chad Dukes babbling off in a mindless rant or Kevin Sheehan b*tching and whining about Albert Haynesworth every 5 minutes.

I can dig it, but do you think if we had a front office who knew what they were doing and we were winning on a more consistant basis, the local media or realists on this board would still complain? I have a hard time believing that.

side note - i was listening to mike shanahans press conf in the car a lil bit ago. he said landry is about 90% certain not to play against the vikes. rabach has a grade 2 meniscus tear, so hes probably out. rogers is a wait n see approach. dock is real sore, probably wont play. anderson russel is on IR and they are going to bring in a safety. j davis is signed to the active roster. im forgetting some other guys . . .

Bruh those dudes have so many holes it's sad. They said that they were glad that Shanahan was here because he'd put the right people on the field and not just start a guy because of his name or his salary. And then Portis started and they bitched because of that. They still bitch about Devin Thomas getting released but they never mention that he can't make the Panthers starting lineup. They will find a reason to bitch, it's their job.

The 980 dudes are the same way. They find reasons to bitch because they know that the Redskins fan doesn't want to hear anything but. That's what we want to hear because one day someone told us that we should always be angry and that's what we are.

I just see a bunch on here acting like the the real men of genius. I try to embrace the wins and minimize the losses.

Yesterday I wait for Gano's last kick in regulation than I said F it and took my son to the park, I figured why suffer through a lost and I rather spend time with my son. Got a text from the wife we won and I was happy.

Last week due to it being a night game I stuck through the whole thing and got really bitter not so much that it was a lost but how bad it was. I should have just gone to bed at halftime that night.
