Re: Carson Palmer demands trade, threatens to retire...
What did Jordan have left to prove when he retired? Ricky was a burnout when he walked away. If palmer would really retire with so much left to prove in his career then he's just not the type of player anymore that i would want to trade for. I don't know how the GM's around the league feel about it but that "I will Retire" ploy players use really leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the player.
No-no-no, when Ricky left, he was at the top of his game, he could run/block/catch and had speed/size. Palmer has been paid a hefty during his tenure in the NFL. Maybe after all the years of Ocho's drama, Marvin Lewis' inability to get the team to the SB, and all the blunders/arrest/ non future dramas that club has been through he is choosing his health at a chance of using leverage. I dont knock him at all if he wants better for himself. In fact, if we switched QB's it would be a win-win. |

Palmer to the Cardinals ? Thoughts ?

I don't know why the Bengals wouldn't take this chance to rebuild and start over. Between Palmer and maybe Chad, they could get a few picks to rebuild their team.

It has to be Mike Browns ego. The guy would rather get nothing and teach everyone a lesson about who's boss then try and get draft picks while battling a lost cause. Not to different from Snyders stupid Media war. |

X2. Brown is a 100% complete idiot. He was offered 2 first round draft choices for a past his prime Chad Johnson and turned it down. Someone needs to sit him down and tell him to step aside. Cinn. has good players and I'd say they're in better shape than we are. He could probably get a lot for Palmer if he'd listen to offers. But his ego is too damn big. |
Don't even think about it folks, he would be a terrible fit in this offense.
^^^ This ^^^^ Palmer is an aging QB who has been hit hard by the injury bug the last few years. No matter what anyone says, Carson was NEVER the same QB after terrible injuries to his knees and elbow. We are supposedly done with signing older, aging, oft-injured players, right? Why Palmer. He would do us no good. |

Yep.. |
Re: Carson Palmer demands trade, threatens to retire...
I don't think it's an issue of Palmer not fitting in this offense. IMO he'd be a great fit if it was the Palmer of a few years ago. But he's just not the same guy anymore.

I'd rather have Rex.

or Shanahan's ego I would say too. But yeah I don't get it, teams like Minny, Arizona, and maybe San Fran would jump on Palmer in a heartbeat. Throw in Ochocinco, you could get some picks out of those two and rebuild. |

This offense requires a lot of playaction boots, his footwork is shit (much like #5) and the results would probably be similar. The classic Shanahan QB has a certain degree of mobility, CP has never been that kind of QB. |
Re: Carson Palmer demands trade, threatens to retire...
You kidding? Portis threw 3 TD passes in his Skins career. He could handle some more passing action.
Oh, THAT CP. |
