Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
So now there are #10 Griffin III jerseys all over the Redskins.com website. What is Gaffney's new number! LOL
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
He could still wear #10. It will just be in different colors.
Other numbers he has worn: |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Nice football card pics Monkeydad. Yeah, its just funny to me how the $$$$ wagon got on track quick for the Redskins. "Ok so Griffin's number will sell jerseys, Gaffney, sorry bud, new number for you."
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
I did not even remember he was on those teams...had to look hard for those actually. Every other team he's been on has been in #10...U of Florida, Denver, New England, us.
Griffin has the money to buy it from Gaffe anyway, but in reality, when the franchise QB/savior wants a number, the 4th-string WR gets the boot. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Gaffney is not even under contract, correct? I mean is he technical still on the team?
I know online internet rosters haven't been updated much since the end of the season, so you can't go by any of those. |

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
We'll probably end up cutting him to save a little cap room. Moss would save us more, but I'd rather keep Moss.
I don't believe Gaffney is a FA this year. Still under contract. |

What? |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
why would a trade be mentioned if he wasn't under contract?

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
I think the league knows we are probably just going to eventually cut him. So probably no trade
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
A 12 page thread on a player who was asked to look for a trade.
Wow we need something new to dwell on. |

If we cut Moss in July, we save a lot more. |

Hmmm. Thought I heard otherwise. But regardless I really can't see us cutting him. Garcon, regardless of the hype, can't be expected to contribute consistently. Hank and Morgan are ? with injury status. And Moss knows the system better than anyone. ...that said Tana needs to step up this season. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Yeah a post June 1 cut does save more money (cutting Moss that is), but I think it's just a difference of a $100k or so, between cutting Moss post June 1 and cutting Gaffney (at any time)

But, but, but, I thought we had seen the last of the Luck/Griffin thread...according to one thread. LOL. |

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Garcon should be able to produce. With Hankerson, Morgan, and Moss, the Redskins passing/receiving game should be very sharp.

Pierre Garcon, WR for the Washington Redskins at NFL.com Considering he had arguably the greatest QB of all-time throwing to him till last year, when he became the primary WR target for most of the season, I would call those pretty pedestrian numbers. Oh and he's a bit of a fumbler, especially for a WR. |

Oh and he's a bit of a fumbler, especially for a WR.
You have to consider Manning has always spread the ball around pretty well aside from his main target Reggie Wayne. In 2010 for example, Wayne 111 catches, Tamme 67, Garcon 67, Collie 58. 3 fumbles in 4 seasons and he's a fumbler? |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
I heard on nfl network RGIII will wear number ten. Anyone know if thats official?

3 fumbles in 4 seasons and he's a fumbler?
For comparison Gaffney has the same number of fumbles in 10 seasons. But more importantly Garcon fumbled twice last season and lost both...that's inexcusable for a WR and especially for one who didn't even break 1000 yards. Your point on Wayne is a good one though, he was a legit #1 for Manning unlike Garcon. |

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Gaffney has always been a decent second guy, but being a non-deep threat with so-so agility means his value to the team is actually not as high as his yardage total would hint at.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Am I the only one here who likes Gaffney? I thought he did a good job last season.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
I liked Gaffney last year, but he's nothing special and he's certainly replaceable.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Whatever happens with Gaffney, I'm looking forward to seeing Garcon, Hankerson, and Morgan in action this season. But I hope Gaffney can stay.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
How's that Gaffney trade thing going? Nobody is going to trade for a WR who is in his 30's and was told he would be sqeezed out this yr.
