A 2009 poll commissioned by DPIC found police chiefs ranked the death penalty last among ways to reduce violent crime. The police chiefs also considered the death penalty the least efficient use of taxpayers’ money. Interesting stuff. Check out the financial section near the bottom of the page |

How is this charming fellow languishing in jail protecting anyone more that him being dead would.
Well if they killed him he would have never told them about the bombs in his apt. Maybe a lot more people die and a whole apt building with many homes is destroyed. Plus i dont believe the cops could have had any way of knowing how horrible the situation was. He ran into them as he was leaving, they wernt chasing him through the carnage. It sounds like the police and all the authorities acted flawlessly. Think about this 10 people were dead on site, 58 others injured many severely. So far only 2 of the injured have died. |

God damnit, I hate the media at times. Remember when they had that quote from the mother that made it look like she knew something by her quote "yes, you have the right person". Looks like we have some selective editing by ABC.

News
ABC News phoned Arlene Holmes at 5am PST, at her home in San Diego, Calif., according to notes and email records by ABC News producer Matthew Mosk, who placed the call. Through her lawyer, Holmes today sought to clarify the remarks she made in that phone interview. "I did not know anything about a shooting in Aurora at that time," Arlene Holmes's said in statement read by her lawyer today. "He [Mosk] asked if I was Arlene Holmes and if my son was James Holmes, who lives in Aurora, Colorado. I answered yes, you have the right person. I was referring to myself. I asked him to tell me why he was calling and he told me about a shooting in Aurora. He asked for a comment. I told him I could not comment because I did not know if the person he was talking about was my son and I would need to find out." The police don't just kick in the door of an apartment when they follow up, it's not like the movies. They would have proceeded with caution as the shootout would suggest evidence at the apartment that would need to be collected. |

Hey, that didn't take long for the first douche bag to show up. People like this make me rage. Big time. Bodies aren't even in the ground and he's thinking of how to get paid.

Karpel tells TMZ ... he is targeting 3 defendants. 1. The theater. Karpel claims it was negligent for the theater to have an emergency door in the front that was not alarmed or guarded. It's widely believed Holmes entered the theater with a ticket, propped the emergency door open from inside, went to his car and returned with guns. 2. Holmes' doctors. Karpel says it appears Holmes was on several medications -- prescribed by one or more doctors -- at the time of the shooting and he believes the docs did not properly monitor Holmes. 3. Warner Bros. Karpel says "Dark Knight Rises" was particularly violent and Holmes mimicked some of the action. The attorney says theater goers were helpless because they thought the shooter was part of the movie. Karpel tells TMZ, "Somebody has to be responsible for the rampant violence that is shown today."
|

In other news about dumb people, the extremists of America (aka Westboro Baptist Church) are going to Colorado to picket a prayer vigil for the victims. Hopefully enough people show up to form a wall, it's ridiculous how that "church" thrives on peoples' pain.

Hope they make it there safely and their mode of transportation isn't involved in a single vehicle fireball followed by a localized and tremendous avalanche that extinguishes the flames. Eff them and their bile. |

"Love" the third point in the lawsuit you quoted.:
Brown has hired attorney Donald Karpel to rep him. Karpel tells TMZ ... he is targeting 3 defendants. 1. (snip BS) 2. (snip more BS) 3. Warner Bros. Karpel tells TMZ, "Somebody has to be responsible for the rampant violence that is shown today."
The article shreds this point nicely: Keep in mind that Holmes hadn’t even seen ‘Dark Knight Rises’. He was at the premiere. But according to the attorney, he watched 20 minutes of it, went home, dyed his hair like a character from a different movie, built a time machine to go buy 4 guns and wire his apartment with explosives, then came back to our time and shot up the theater. He invented time travel, we can’t arrest him now, he’s the future of humanity. |
