Im not trying to drive shanny out of town but his record is what it is. Wins and losses are all that matter. I hope that rg3 is the start of good things i hope we win 10 games this year and next year challenge for bigger things But lets just say he wins five this year and oh six next year? Than is it ok to debate how good he is? I mean at what point do things have to translate to w's. Other teams have turned things around a hell of alot faster.
What other teams are these you speak of? What was the talent level with that particular coach compared to what our coach inherited. Please get back with specifics. Thanks. |

Rex Ryan is going senile if he thinks Revis could remotely be back by Super Bowl with a ACL tear. (not that they are even going to make the playoffs)
Some might say Gibbs should have never returned to DC to coach the second time, but completely different circumstances.
Mike Shanahan won 2 super bowls, yes. Those 2 super bowls with a STUD qb like Elway. After Elway, he ran the Broncos organization in the ground. Not so bad the first 2 or 3 years after Elway, but then they REALLY started to go downhill. I lived in Colorado Springs at the time. I heard the talk radio around there. Noone thought Shanahan deserved the job after 2004. He completely screwed that defense. He has shown nothing but the same tendencies here, and I just hope that our stud QB can do everything in his power to get us to a superbowl in spite of a HC and OC that prefers to have him run a dozen designed runs a game against linebackers that eat glass for breakfast. I really hope his plan is better than that, cause Griffin is the ONLY reason we were even competitive in any of the games this year. I doubt anyone will attribute any of our success to any schemes or gameplan. I just hope the young fella stays healthy.
Word to this, among my family in Denver Shanahan is practically a four letter word. Elway on the other hand is still seen as THE MAN. |

So try again after you reread what I typed because even though you quoted me, you didnt respond to what I had typed. Editing to add: Stud qb... bad defenses... Kinda sounds like Belichik the last few years ;)
Also worth noting the AFC West division was putrid for most of Shanahan's tenure in Denver. If reg season wins are what you want, well I still don't see how Mike is your guy lol, but he's a dud in the playoffs since Elway retired. Point is sure he won reg season games in Denver but any Bronco fan will tell you, rather adamantly in my family's case, that those were not...competitive...teams. Also, how on earth do you compare Belichick to Shanahan???? Bill took that team to the Superbowl and nearly won, whereas Mike can't even muster a winning season. |

Could you ask your family in Denver what they think of Dan Reeves? The guy that couldnt win with Elway yet seems to be considered a good coach by most people, including what Denver fans I have talked to. Edit: Sniped by Hog1... |

I compared the comment that the Skins have a good offense and bad defense to what the Patriots have had lately. Of course Belichick never wins anything without a massive lucky 6th round pick that no one, including Belichick, thought would amount to much of anything. Tom Brady says hi... And the putrid AFC west was in SB's and AFC championship games with former Redskins QB Gannon as a Raider. If thats Putrid, then we are back to needing 20 undefeated seasons and 20 SB's in a row to consider anything Shanny does here a success. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
As far as CLE goes if you dont think they are on par with us as far as sucking goes lets make a apples to apples comparison. How did each team fare against CIN?
They suck and we suck. IMO CLE seems like the better two when comparing the two. |

So the guy that couldnt break through with that STUD QB is not a four letter word, but the guy who broke through, not once, but twice is a four letter word. Interesting... Something else happened for Denver to hate Shanny this bad. Did he cuss out fans and in general be a douche there or something? |

Which would be a Shanny 6th round pick in Denver. Which should mean they hate Reeves and love Shanny. |
It's just stupid to say Mike wasn't a huge reason for those two super bowls. I mean BB didn't do shit in Cleveland so does that mean he wouldnt be a good coach without Brady?
|
He did take em to the playoffs once. He also won a boatload of games the year brady got hurt n cassell played. That being said i cant stand the guy. But i do respect him.

We should bring back Jim Zorn
Re-Sign Cooley, Portis, Jason Taylor, Archuleta, D. Sanders, Jason Taylor, Dana Stubblefield, Bruce Smith, Fat Albert and whoever else wants to blow our salary wad on! Let's bring back the glory days of spending a 2nd rounder on a WR because he had 1 good year as a senior and is fast. Casay Rabach, John Janson, and many more!!! I loved our franchise a lot better when we averaged the age of 30+ and was the laughing stock of the free agency market. Let's trade away a corner back who is going to go down as one of the greatest of all time, for a running back who lasted 5 seasons, and was hurt in most of them. We've had 3 seasons to change a 50 man roster that was riddled with has been's, and never was. Is every replacement going to be perfect? No, but our franchise is in a better position now then it was in 2005. I think everyone need to take a breath and realize that Rome wasn't build in a day. The league isn't full of Bill Belichick's just waiting to get signed to head coaching jobs. I find it adorable that some of you blame the coaches for everything bad on our team and not some of the talent, but in a different thread you want to say it was Elway and Davis who led the Broncos, and not the coaches. Comical, hypocritical fans... Shanahan was doomed the minute he signed with this franchise because the modern day fan for Washington is so tainted by the Cerrato era, that they forgot what it takes to actually build a team. |

But you can't really fault anybody for having high hopes can you? It was a pretty dark time after Sean passed, Joe retired for good and we watched swinging gates on gameday. |

I mean, if he came in with mediocre expectations, and had two losing seasons but the team got younger and drafted well, then fine, maybe there is a silver lining in all the losing. But he was hired to win early, long, and often. And all that's happened is losing, losing, and more losing. |

Matty do you not see any reasoning in the fact that shanny should not be loved by skins fans UNTIL he wins?
