Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
On PTI last night, they said the Rams "fired" Gregg Williams and commented that it was kind of pointless since hes suspended indefinitely, but that this just meant he wouldnt get his job back if he were reinstated.
I havent seen this reported anywhere else. Has anyone heard he was fired, or do you think they mixed him up with his son's firing? |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
I like 2 of the 3 but I wouldn't say those are game changing types of players. It wasn't like he got us London or RG3. Keep in mind its Bruce Allen whos the man. (waiting for someone like Smoot to correct me in 5..4..)
Its my understanding Allen has less to do with personel than any other "GM" in the league. For all intents and purposes, Shanahan is our teams top personnel guy, with Brown being his #2. Of course, thats solely based on what i've seen other people say, so could be wrong? Were you assuming Allen runs the show or is that something you know? I'm very concerned about Brown leaving. If i were to hear he's not as crucial to the teams composition as ive thought, it would definitely reduce some anxiety lol. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
I haven't heard anything about Gregg Williams being fired
I would actually feel sorry for Lovie if he got that job. That and the Cleveland jobs are just roads to nowhere. Can't win there, free agents (typically) have no interest in going there unless they are overpaid to do so, bad weather, bad stadiums, bad roster compositions, ugh.
Well you could say the same thing about Green Bay. All Buffalo needs is a great player at QB, just like they had with Jim Kelly. Once they get that then they have a chance. |

Come on, tell us - on a scale of 1 to 10, how vital do you think Brown is to our organization? In other words, would we take a step back or not even notice he was gone? |

Don't be so sure about that. If the Redskins go to SB47, Kyle Shanahan will be offered more than one head coaching vacancy. Whether he goes to interview or if he decline's the offer is a whole other thing. |

You are taking a reporters words on "interviewing with the Browns" and applying what you deem to be a real interview. Even if the Browns and him talked for 5 minutes. Thats enough for the media to refer to that as an interview. You also dont know if he told the Browns that he wasnt interested, and the new owner just asked to talk to him anyways. Afterwords, if he still had no interest, no big deal. A lot, and I mean a lot of people will go ahead and have that talk. But if all it takes is money and situation, hes talking to all 5 NFL teams that want to talk, not just one. |

I hope we retain everyone at this point - front office and coaching staff. I'm even inclined to keep haz just to see what he can do with a healthy front seven and a revamped secondary

Coaches are like politicians, they are not going to tell the truth, they do what some folks call coach speak. If you expect that, you are living in fantasy land. In the real non-football world, some people may have no intentions of leaving a job and interview just to see how they would fare or if they are still marketable. |

Seriously man, I don't know why you get so worked up over it
I'm not worked up over it, just can't stand bullshit artists. Probably why I have such disdain for politicians. Also, I never said he was lying to me directly. He is though lying to the public, his employer, his team, the fans, and future recruits. What makes him a asshole? The fact he's lying his ass off instead of simply saying ...."Hey, I met with them to hear them out, but I'm not interested". No need to start blowing smoke up people's ass about how righteous you are and how you would never ditch a program after one year. Spare me. I guess asking for honesty, outside of game matters, is a bit much these days. Monkey see, monkey do. |
