Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Somebody post the top CBs available at the Skins pick. I'm stressed. Maybe not Jets fans stressed but, stressed nonetheless.
Hell. Show me the teams big board!
Alford, Robert CB 5'10" 188 Southeast Louisiana 81.0 McFadden, Leon CB 5'10" 193 San Diego St. 80.7 Wreh-Wilson, Blidi CB 6'1" 195 Connecticut 77.2 |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
According to the USA Today Draft Guide Amerson was ranked 7th among CBs.
According to Lindys he was 8th with a 7.0 grade. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Still a lot of good safeties though.
And pass rushers. And WRs. I want Rambo. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Remember Skins thought alot of the safeties graded similar, guys who go in the 2nd graded similar to guys who graded in the 4th. Difference wasnt that large.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Playmaker or safety in three and I am happy.
|
Amerson will probably start day 1 folks. He's pretty good, maybe not what we all wanted but can't be mad at it.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
OK. I'm overreacting. Amerson is a good prospect. I'm excited for new talent.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Wonder when the honey blunt might go ? im thinking NE

Hell. Show me the teams big board!
S swearinger CB jamal taylor was the best available (per analysts) CB robert alford CB wreh-wilson we might take rambo at Safety later. he could be a good fit for us. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
I like the Amerson pick.
He is a tampa 2 style CB and who better to coach him than Morris. He reminds me alot of Sean Smith and Richard Sherman. also, his 13 int in 2011 shows he plays the ball well in the air and makes plays. If he can improve his footwork, he will match up well with the big WR in the division. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Amerson had 5 picks last year, THIRTEEN the year before.
And he is a press-cover guy who consistently covered the opposing teams best receiver. 6'2" 194. Played safety in HS. 57 tackles in 2010, 59 in 2011, 61 in 2012. According to USA Today, he is built more like a safety, and is big and physical and a good tackler. |

Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
There goes Alford.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
I'm hoping from some 6th and 7th round gems.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
safeties are going slow, maybe we could even pass on one in the 3rd as well? that idea just scared me a little though. easily our biggest need!
|
When is our next pick?

Worse case scenario is he'll be given a chance to play safety if he doesn't pan out. You just wonder if there was an OT available worth the 51st pick. Who will be targeted in the 3rd? |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
I like the pick. he's a ballhawk. Fills a need. #85 if Baccari Rambo's available we take him
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
yeah, physically/stats wise, he's exactly what you want. if he can be coached up, he could be amazing. but if not, you know... a bigger version of hall.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
I think Amerson is good. I am gonna call Phillip Thomas in round 3.
|

Let's hope he's ready to start at CB or FS day one. That would be helpful. If not, with Crawford he gives us a nice duo at nickel/dime/spot starter back. |

I saw one report on Bleacher Reports that even compared him to Nnamdi so we shall see. Thought our bigger weakness was at safety, but the CB spot needed help in general. David Amerson NFL Draft 2013: Pro Potential Projections | Bleacher Report And according to his teleconference interview he won't be initially switching to safety, at least according to conversations with the coaches, but is open to the idea. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
when is our next pick?
85. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
wouldn't be suprised at a WR the way it is shaking out...maybe even RG3's teammate Terrrance Williams may be around...safety's may go later
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Sweet. We got the CB from NC State. Glad we got some talent at the CB spot. We need it. Still stuck in a networking closet. :-/
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
p thomas or rambo at safety... we may wait till the 4th.
our top 4 CBs right now are hall, wilson, biggers, and amerson. amerson is probably going to be an outside corner, not so much on the slot (like cedric griffin last year). that's my guess anyways. in the 3rd, i wouldn't be shocked if we go OT or WR honestly. edit: 4th, not 3rd, sorry. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
would you guys want Tyrann Mathieu if he fell to us in the 3rd?
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
^so what in the 3rd then? i say speed rb/wr and safety in the 4th
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
It's okay if we don't pick him up but I sure hope Dallas doesn't take Matheiu.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
There goes Mathieu.
|

Wish granted. Big smoke to the desert. |
There goes Mathieu.
Damn |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
That's okay. They need the help. I get the feelings the Skins weren't that interested in him anyway.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Glad we dodged that bullet.
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
15 picks to go. Who's it going to be peoples?
|
Dang I wanted badger. O well
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
give me a safety or a speedster on O
|
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Terrance Williams is my guess.
Edit: But I'd strongly prefer Keenan Allen if we go wr. |
Re: Draft talk rounds 2-3
Well we can stop talking about mathieu, he should do alright there, although if what one of the NFL Network people said was true, that Mathieu will be covering Tavon Austin, he will fail. Glad he's another teams problem. And hey, if he's good, he can be picked up in 4 years.
|
Rambo
