I know Kyle will never do this, but trash the RO, 3 men in the back field shit for a week. Spread out the field, mix in hurry up and run what he ran at Baylor. That's where he seems most comfortable. Run what he wants, not what they want. The season is lost so why not?
RO is deadly when used correctly. For instance... On 2nd < 5 or 3rd < 5 we should be running more RO to put pressure on the LB's. Right now, we run a lot of RO from 1st down and try to "CATCH" the LB's out of position. Most teams are going to run 7 man fronts against us with blitz packages now. We need to force the LB's up, so the 2 man routes are open over top like last year. Most teams are just rallying to the ball and forcing us in to 3rd downs were they know they have the advantage because our WR's are not much of a threat for separation. We ran a more traditional offense w/ a blend of RO against the Vikings, and it looked beautiful. We did the opposite against the Vikings. |

Wonder if Kyle has gotten this memo yet.
It's great that he's coming to RG3's aid, but this is probably the wrong kind of attitude to have.. It almost seems like a throwback to when big name players like Portis and other folks would be in Dan's pocket and complain about the scheme, the coaches, etc... I see RG3 doing it in maybe not a malevolent way...but i still don't think it's good... |

Glennon might get more wins this season but he's still not a better QB.

Well the argument is based on 2 games from Glennon. The art is the fact it ends up on the board. |
Re: Do You Unequivocally Believe RG3 Is Our Franchise QB?
Based on 2-3 plays he assumes Glennon is better?
I remember watching a SPECIFIC breakdown on RG3 last year on Playbook, and they talked about how he was throwing his WR's open. Remember that throw to Moss against the Eagles for the TD? How soon people forget when you're losing. Just need a win on Monday. |

Re: Do You Unequivocally Believe RG3 Is Our Franchise QB?
With the caveat that Griffin left some plays on the field -- None more painful than the painful fourth down conversion -- I thought Griffin was pretty good at Philly. I liked his decisiveness and quick decision making, and thought his knee looked really explosive for the first time since last season. The extra gear was there.
He showed an agressiveness and an ability to extend plays and give receivers a chance to make the plays to bring the Redskins back down 24 in the fourth quarter. He's still a mechanical mess, but part of the problem is there is no sense of timing with him and his receivers, particularly once Hankerson and Reed were out. He double clutches a lot part because he's working with subpar teammates and part because he simply hasn't repped the passing plays enough to understand where the holes in the coverage will be. Griffin has the skill necessary to create space to throw the ball, but the problem is that his internal clock is a bit fast at times (sometimes slow at others) and he is not always creating space to throw. Sometimes he is just speeding up his motion (try's to set his feet and throw at the same time) to get the ball out, and that's when he drops his elbow and the ball sails on him. He's better from the muddied pocket than he was at this time last year, but the mechanical flaws he showed last season are still not fixed (which the coaches share blame for), and he's picked up a few bad habits (which is as much about the lacking talent around him as anything). It may take multiple years to get Griffin to a point where he's not leaving plays on the field. I don't think he's close to resolving that. But as far as the big plays that powered last years offense returning...I think we're close to seeing that. |

However, I totally agree that his mechanics are a mess, and I attribute much of that to the terrible interior blocking by his O-line. Until that is improved, it will be difficult for Griffin to consistently make throws on rhythm with solid mechanics. |

I think your point of chemistry/timing with WR is evident, especially as the season has plodded along. Moss and Morgan are easy covers. Mechanics need work for sure. But my biggest gripe to be more specific than "just leaving plays on the field" is his vision of the field. Its still lacking. |
Re: Do You Unequivocally Believe RG3 Is Our Franchise QB?
Tigers knee surgery was at the end of June 2008, one week after he won the US Open over Rocco Mediate at Torrey Pines. BTW, that is the last major TW has won. That started TW's longest time away from competitive golf. Even when TW started his return he had to curtail his practice and play because his knee still gave him problems and didnt allow him to practice how and how much he needed to.
Watching film is fine but there no substitute for actual reps and building muscle memory. RG3 needed reps last offseason and he didnt get them. Hopefully he gets out of this season healthy and gets those reps.
Griffin has shown that he can plant on the forward foot and throw so doing it isn't a injury issue at this point. It is a mental error that he should not be making period. No excuse for poor mechanics when you show on one play you have good mechanics and the next one you don't. Sorry no excuses on this one. It is all on RG# not doing the simple things correct. What he can improve on is both mechanics and timing. Again all on him. |

Yea one more weapon and a defense will make RG3 spectacular. :say what: I do believe he can play much better but the fault does not lie elsewhere. Step up and plant and throw before the break and we are almost there. |

Not many QBs can play at a high level under constant pressure from rushing defenders, as RG's faced. RG deserves a legit oline and at least another weapon downfield before we start doubting his future. |

To put it simply this o-line is not designed for pocket protection so much as mobility. If this was Kyle's intention for the second season to start a transition to a more traditional offense, then the o-line clearly needs to be addressed this offseason. |

Either RG3 wasn't ready to come back and shouldn't have or Kyle Shanahan is not calling the correct plays or RG3 is to blame. Or maybe a little bit of all 3 of those. The pick of which one is debatable I suppose. |

He's had two guys who watch more film ( Jaws and Cosell) than anyone around basically call him out. Even Sonny said he should be benched. Some of it is the line and some of it is Kyle's stupid ass two man routes, but there's been many instances where RG3 just hasn't done the job. Then he throws the worst pass he's ever thrown and blames it on the wr's not being open. Time to man up on Mon RG3. No more excuses. |
