I'm sure the plan was to offset the picks with the $36M in cap room.

I know the cap room alone isn't to blame for this mess, but it's certainly part of it.

I hope we at least beat Atalanta me my dad and uncle are going and that would be great.

By my count we are in need of about 12-13 new starters :
2 wr's
3 oline
1 ilb
1 safety
1 cb
2-3 dline
1 punter
Kai - maybe. Dude cant kick it into the endzone and isnt exactly money on fg's but he is ok.
We need ALOT of depth. Probably 5-6 quality guys. Than there is special teams minus the new punter and /or kicker. That is so far and above the 36 mill in capspace. We dont have a first round pick. I just completely depressed myself about the next couple years! Shanny and BA have dug us a deeper hole than we had. This is bad. Very bad.

Obviously you can't fix everything overnight. But you can at least shore things up enough to be competitive again next season.

If we hit on almost all free agent moves, cuts, and draft picks we can be an 8-8'ish team. Ugghh.
I think we can....i think we can.....lol

Thats tough to say. I mean there have been a few of those games where our offense showed up in garbage time. Our wr's and oline is shit and there is no way around it. Just to tough to say.....
I like how people are still fired up at this point, like you were expecting anything different from this team last night? lol

Miserable performances by the OL and receivers, to me those two units are glaring reasons why the offense struggles to maintain any consistency. I'm tired of seeing Polumbus and Chester getting schooled and how many dropped passes can you have in one night? Unreal.

On defense what else can you say, the cupboard is so bare outside of Hall, Rak, Kerrigan, Cofield, and probably Riley. All the rest are scrubs and shouldn't even be starting.

Hey at least that 2nd rd pick will be a high one eh?
You moved straight from the position where you criticized people for not having any faith in the team to correct things right into criticizing people for having any expectations for the team whatsoever.

I have to admit, that was pretty smooth.

I agree with you about Kerrigan though, guy has gone unnoticed the past 5 games.
He's set to hit free agency, so it's not an issue of overpayment. You either have to pay the pass rusher premium or let him walk and go out and hire a coach like Rex Ryan who can win without a top level pass rush.

Well what if we suck again next year? In 2015 we could have a chance to draft Jameis Winston!!!!!!! .. w/out giving up any picks! That kid makes more ridiculous throws than any college QB I've ever seen. Let's suck for Famous Jameis in 2015!
Garcon is a solid WR but man we have nobody else for RG3, and everyone keeps saying reed but he's glass man, dude is always hurt and has missed what the last 2 or 3 games now?? So u really cant say he's a sure starter.

As for Kenny Britt? No thanks man , hes a punk and not a team guy at all. I'd like Byrd but I doubt bills let him go and talib will stay in NE he loves it and they love him
We are limited in options available to us. We have to take a risk on some players to move forward. One positive thing to take out of this is that we may have a second pick slot for all of the rest of our picks. I agree with you on concerns about Reed, he has been out for 2 games now and that is concerning. Fred Davis looks bad because we have chosen not to use him.

I think Kenny is going through the same issues as Fred D. He has the talent but he lost favor. We should rehire Phillip D. to be that security/ mentor role like last year because it made a difference IMO.

To keep Byrd they will have to pay him twice the amount of the highest paid safety. They have used a franchise tender on him already, so he will be a free agent.

Talib wanted to sign with us last year but we couldn't afford him he will be back in play.

Well in the NFL things change so fast, look at ATL and HOU.

I think we build around RG3 and TW on Offense and get some playmakers on D in FA not a bunch but at least a couple and we can contend next yr again

What I believe is that coaching competency will do wonders for Griffin and then Griffin in turn will do wonders for the perception of talent on the roster, much like he did last year.

I think this team is really far away from being a Super Bowl favorite. It's probably not that far away from being a Super Bowl underdog. Two drafts away if everything goes well.

I think he's innocent. The story floating around is the girl got mad cause she was his side piece and he told her not to bother him while his real GF came in town for a visit. Apparently there's a couple of witnesses who back up his story. However, I wonder why it's taking so much time for the DA to make an announcement.

Might as well get Britt, Pacman Jones, Incognito and bring back Donte Stallworth. The politicians can get what they want because we'll then be called the Washington Cowboys with all of these thugs and criminals on our roster.

Next coach can be this guy:

I would still do this trade 100 out of 100 times regardless of what pick the Rams end up with. This is a QB league and I still believe Griffin will be a franchise QB and the Rams have spent all but one of our picks and still don't have a franchise QB. Maybe our pick this year will turn into one for them but I would rather have Griffin then any QB in this draft. Those 4 picks or Griffins play are not the reason the Redskins are losing.

I was being sarcastic in my previous comment. I know the coaches are responsible for a lot of what is going on. But at the same time, my point is that we are not very talented, and that also needs to be fixed.

A lot of our current players plain suck and shouldn't be starting on an NFL team. But due to a combination of poor planning (coaches/management) and bad fortune (36 mil cap hit) they are starting.

It's pretty clear now that RG3 and the read option covered up a lot of our issues last year. When your QB only throws 5 picks vs accounting for 27 TDs, that will cover up a lot of holes on any team.

Yep and now we don't really run it anymore so RG3 is changing his game and it takes time to learn a new style, plus we just lack the talent on O

We run it but defenses have adjusted and Griffin lacks that extra gear that made him such a threat last year. He's also a much more careful runner which is good, but it makes him less effective.

There are games that RG3 has played well and people failed him -- but there are games where he failed the team as well. He's going through the struggles of a young QB. What concerns me, is he seems to have lost the trust/respect of his WRs. Regardless of whoevers fault that is, if it is the case it's bad.
It is the case it looks like.

Well nobody is going to argue that. I made a list of all the holes that need to be filled. I count about 13 starters and several back ups and ST starters. Its bad. That is a hell of alot more than 36 mill will get you though. Its just a horrendous situation. Im hoping we hit a homerun on a few key pick ups/ draft picks , that Griff is comfortable next year mentally and physically with whatever the hell scheme we are running (or whomever the hells scheme we are running) , and of course that we have a competent staff in place. Than we become a competitive team. A playoff caliber team. You just gotta be in it to win it.

Very insightful, pretty much reached the same conclusion. You could see it during the past game against the Giants where he could not just blow past the defense. Even more so during the horrid Monday Night Massacre where he was getting blasted by 49ers. Whitner closed on him and blew him up near the sideline, made me cringe watching it. Have not seen any signs this season of the burst like last year he had against the Vikings when no one could catch him. The big question is will he ever had that type of speed again?

Ya...what in the heck is wrong with the field at FedEx!

You'd think with all of the bad press the Redskins got last season about the poor condition of the field, they would completely replace it!
