Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
who would be James Franklin's staff?
Seems irrelevant now.. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Though WASH reached out to him last week, Vanderbilt HC James Franklin has no interview planned with Redskins. Sounds like PSU or Vandy. |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
Just read this in an article, and I have heard similar things to this:
"Above all, what Griffin has requested is a coach that teaches a more traditional offense, and that's likely what he'll get in Gruden." I think I also heard something like his father and him asked/demanded that he not run the read option anymore. Is there anything to substantiate these statements? Or is it just more of the BS being thrown around? |

All the talk in the offseason of being more of pocket passer and then brining Briles throws that out the window. I think by this time next week we need to have a coach and building a staff, If SD loses Whiz will pick his job and then all others will follow IMO. |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
Gruden to the Redskins?
He's still in Redskins park. Some leaks coming out. Could be really premature. |

IMO it would be like Spurrier all over again. |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
Expecting the Jay Gruden hiring announcement any hour now...

I think Briles fits more of the Spurrier mold, not Franklin. |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
Yep. Jay Gruden.

Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
This is a good hire. Those against it are irrationally against it. It is fine to have quibbles but I don't see a "perfect" candidate out there. Jay has been a HC coach before, knows how to succeed and is respected. Now we see what kind of staff he puts together and then see what he can do. Maybe he'l be terrible. Maybe not. No one knows. But you can;t convince me this is a bad hire. I like it.

Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
The more I read on Jay Gruden the more comfortable I get with this (potential) hire. I can see Raheem Morris and Sean McVay as the DC and OC also.

Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
Can he bring AJ Green with him?

And the Bengals defense? |
Re: Pick Your Next Redskins Head Coach
^^ The same thing could have been said of the Seattle OC.
