Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Moving on, picks are all the way up to SF at 61. 5 more picks to our next selection. Also we are at the point where our 5th rounder should be fair trade value if we want to move up.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Sorry Lotus...
Vent on everyone back to the terrible shooting in the Wiz game |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Side note, the espn coverage is flat out ballin tonight. This desk kills berman, gruden and Ray Ray last night
|
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
People need to chill the F out. It's not like we're picking two WRs and a TE in the same round. We have two third rounders anyway.
Obviously the whole thing is a crapshoot. Alex Smith vs Tom Brady. However, as a fan or an expert we cannot predict the future. As it stands now Murphy is a reach that early. No question about it. Question about the future - sure. Rite now - makes little sense. Hope im dead wrong.
I'm just saying that people are complaining that this pick was a reach at a position that they as fans don't view as a need, but the FO likely sees it an entirely different way. I think Trent Murphy was the BPA, so they took him. |
So true. Anything kills Berman that doesnt have Berman. Lol. Ray ray was awful. I love Gruden though.
Ask you the same thing i asked Matty. Would you have made that pick if given the honor?
If I was in the Redskins draft room and had all the opinions they did I don't know. |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Bench him for Cousins week 1, Calia. Besides the draft is over and the season starts tomorrow. We might as well just wait till our first pick in next years draft for any hope of having a winning football team... SMMFH
Dude, all I am saying is that we have more pressing needs than OLB, particularly given how bad our O-line was last year (and secondary). I don't think that's an unreasonable conclusion, and I don't think drafting for need is a bad approach either. Don't get me wrong -- I get the best player available approach too, but does anyone think this guy is that? The write-ups on hims are solid, projecting him as a 2-3 round player, suggesting that we picked him in about the right spot -- but I haven't seen anything yet that suggests we got great value or anything approaching a steal (time will tell). He seems like more of a depth signing to me -- something we can't afford with the holes we have and so few picks. BTW, I think the Packers are having a good draft -- I really like the WR out of Fresno St. they picked up. I have a feeling that guy will be great (although having Aaron Rodgers throw the ball your way helps a lot). |

I agree pass rush was a need. No doubt about it. Helps the secondary. I am not sure he was the bpa there. Sounds like he wasnt according to the espn crew. |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Ask you the same thing i asked Matty. Would you have made that pick if given the honor?
Maybe. There are questions about Moses's motor but no questions about Murphy. From what I can tell Murphy is not just a football player, he's a sack machine. I like sack machines. We can still get a good RT in the third. |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Do you like the Murphy pick? The timing of it i mean, not addressing the pass rush or Murphy in particular. Is it the direction you would have gone if the Skins gave you the honor? Lol.
Probably not where I would have gone. But I don't study players for a living either. Just reading up on him real quick I think there's a lot to like there. |
2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Lotus you just got me pumped about Murphy. Lol. God I am easily swayed.
Edit: Matty I hope what you are reading is the case! |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
We have young guys in the oline and secondary that will be given the chance of stepping in. And with two 3rd round picks I'm sure they'll pick an area of need.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
No one's going to agree on this pick until we actually see him on the field for substantial gameplay and even then who're we kidding people still won't agree 100%. For the time being the people who thought it was too soon or just don't like it at all will get bashed for voicing an opinion by some just as those who like it or are just going along with what the team does will get bashed for voicing that opinion as well by some. This is what makes the offseason go from enjoyable to unbearable at the drop of a dime lol. Here's to always hoping for the best with this team even if I don't 100% agree with the moves 100% of the time.

Dont they need defensive help too? lol |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Meanwhile the Jags just got two really solid wrs. I really liked the thoughts of Robinson in a Skins uniform before we added DJax.

Actually I thought Berman did a pretty good job last night, which if you dig into my posting history you will see I have a long track record of hating Berman covering the draft since the start of the Shanahan era. Ray did a good job when it came to breaking down the players though it did get pretty annoying where like 95% of the picks made he deemed as good picks. Kind of like Jon Gruden early in his career at ESPN who ironically seemed to do a 180 and just started laying into picks he didn't like. As the old joke goes:
Fake Al Davis @VeryFakeAlDavis 25 Aug 2011 Gruden has all the answers, until you ask him to play F***/Mary/Kill with Josh Johnson, John Beck and Rich Gannon Expand Reply
|
