Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
For fucks sake. Can this team catch any god damn breaks? Any good luck? Paul out for the year in the first damn pre-season game.
|
Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
Obviously garcon should have caught the ball but if that ball is thrown where it should have been thrown Garcon doesnt have to turn around.
|
Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
And the news don't get any better:
Gruden said rb Silas redd possible acl/mcl tear. |
Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
As others have said it sucks knowing how much work Paul put into this season only to get it all taken away in a freaking preseason game. Any legit options for tight ends on the market?

Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
Skins should approach the Lions who have 3 pretty good TE and ask for Joseph Fauria for a trade.

I have a feeling that this man will be getting a lot of carries this year. |

Just wait a week and they will come to us :silly: Really sucks for Paul and Redd. Redds is easier to deal with since Matt Jones is here. But losing Paul really hurts since he was a good player on teams as well (captain of teams iirc). |
Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
Losing Paul is a big deal.
Gruden was going to bring him on primarily passing downs to limit his use but with Paul out, he needs to be in every play and he just wont last. No more safety net for our QBs. |

Why not? Paulsen banged up too. Reed brittle. |
Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
I think rg3 played well. It's just two plays that he had that he could done better. On the first down run he had Grant sitting open underneath. On that fade route he had a guy open underneath again, but decided to throw the fade. Other than that he played pretty good. The oline looked much better in both the run and the pass. The dline got penetration consistently. Overall I don't think last night's performance was anywhere near as bad as most of you think. The only thing I'm concerned about is that secondary. Deangelo Hall had a bad night.

Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
no offense, but at this point cooley is probably a garbage player. we'll probably be looking at TEs that get let go in the roster cutdowns coming up in a bit. otherwise we'd be signing TEs that aren't even in the top 3000 players in the world (vs the top 1600 in a few weeks).
if a GM thought cooley was in as super awesome shape as he says, they'd have him on their roster already. he has no ties to this coaching staff or offense. he wasn't a great blocker either. |

Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
I too find it hard to believe a 33 year old Cooley is our best option. Stay patient and wait for cuts.

Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
How about Dixon, Hamm, and Mahina? Anybody think there might be a diamond in the rough there? Or even a cubic zirconia at this point?

i mean, it's possible, but not likely. no one's seen enough to justify going into a season with 3 rookies and no safety net. and i haven't been hearing rave reviews of them lighting it up in camp against #2/#3s. |

Re: What are you looking for vs the Browns '15?
o I'm not even remotely concerned with the offense from a schematic standpoint, especially considering they're not going to have a starting caliber TE out there
When I wrote this I read somewhere that Paul wasn't going to play this game. I wish he hadn't. Now we really in ernest need to figure out something at TE especially in terms of blocking.
o I want to see Griff get a lot of reps, the main thing i'm looking for is crisp footwork and getting the ball out on time
Disappointed in the Griff's low number of reps. His footwork was okay, not as sharp or as crisp as I would like to see. For example on the pass to Spencer that he sailed high on the inside Griffin took an extra hitch. He got to the top of his drop and Spencer wasn't open yet. Instead of throwing the ball early or moving to the next receiver he took a small hitch and waited then he threw the ball high and on the inside. But that's what happens when a QB throws the ball off rhythm they tend to 'aim' the ball and end up spraying it because their footwork is off.
o Going to keep a close eye on: Dash (who I'm worried about, I think he was a damn good S 2 years ago but I'm worried that player might only exist in the past) Want to see Jeron and I have high hopes for the rookie DB from Va Tech
Dash didn't really have a chance to make an impact. Duke blew a coverage on scramble in the end zone. Jarrett looked good but played more slot then S. Cromartie Smith and Robinson were active.
o Would like to see one of the back-up CB play well but right now I'm just hoping for no major mistakes. These guys are gonna to be thrown into the deep end.
Other then the Culliver I thought the CBs didn't make positve plays.
o I want to see the starting front 3 to be dominant. Dominant.
They were okay. I want to see dominance!
o I want to see good pash rush from Trent and I'm curious how Preston Smith looks as an OLB and a general pass rusher
Liked what I saw from these 2. Trent isn't a speed rusher but can create some pressure, Preston is similar. Trent got held/tackled on the scramble play.
o I really like the physical skillset of Houston Bates will be curious if he flashes
Got to take a second look but he flashed, back to back sacks to end the game. He's moving from OLB to ILB. I want to see him in coverage but physical skillset he rivals any Backer we have. He might be my camp crush.
o I think Martell Spaight might injury someone, I expect him to make some splash hits
Moved well made some tackles, but I'm waiting to see someone get 'Spaighted' |

Yup. It's time to make this 30gut's official avatar:
