They are good for a one-stop-shop for information that covers pretty much all aspects of the draft. But their accuracy is questionable in my opinion. Very questionable especially on quarterbacks.

I like to watch and chart games myself and rely on cbsdraft/nfldraftscout for draft info and have learned to respect PFF draft stuff and find the opinions of Matt Waldman informative.

Speaking of which, I hate compensatory picks. I don't know why a team should be rewarded for not keeping their own players. What's worse is that the league awards these picks starting at the end of the Third Round. Now, the teams with those picks can even trade them. That's worse, still.

Maybe I just don't understand the logic. Perhaps someone can set me straight on the rationale for this type of pick.

Re: 2017 Draft Prospects

Some of the compensatory picks are at the end of the 3rd round add 10 to 15 picks before the 4th round starts... so it is like they moved back in the 4th round

The Redskins just lost a 5th round pick to the 49ers. Reportedly the Carrier trade was a conditional pick that ended up being a 7th round pick, now the official NFL list of picks gives the Redskin 5th to SF. And they now have 10 picks.

per Rich Tandler

If everyone had the exact same grade when we pick at 17, what position would you go for? I'd go for a safety. Inside LB would be my next choice.

BPA... I wouldn't be surprised if we took a player on offense with the first pick. If he takes a guard then so be it. Maybe that will help us run the ball on 3rd and 1 and score more td's.

Somewhere along the Dline, getting better there will make everybody else better. Safety would be next. At ILB Comp and Foster are upgradable, but at least they're both competent. Not a high priority to me

I watched these guys run pass receiving drills on TV at the Combine yesterday. These are my observations:

McCaffery: His pass routes were precise; his cuts were sharp and fast; he catches the ball with an easy fluidity like a WR; clearly the best pass catcher of the group. This guy is a smooth, fast athlete who will bring tremendous value to some team. We know he can run the ball, he's a tremendous PR/KR, he catches everything thrown to him, and, I assume he can probably pass well, too. Talk about Slash! He should be an awesome 3rd Down back/Slot Receiver/PR/KR. I think he could play WR, as well.

Cook: He is pure excitement in everything he does. He is a spectacular athlete. He ran very good routes; he has soft natural hands; made the best catch of the day. His quickness is amazing. I'm not sure if he is big enough to be a prime back in the NFL but i sure want to see him try. He reminds me of Shady McCoy.

Fournette: Wow! What an NFL body! He can definitely carry the load in the NFL. He ran decent routes but he struggled catching the ball at first. You could tell that he wasn't used to catching the ball but he improved with every rep - no kidding, visible improvement. By the end of the drills, he was catching the ball just fine. He obviously has the capacity to learn fast. This guy is an exciting big back.

I would draft any of them. There were some other good looking pass receivers among the RB's but I don't have time to get to them right now. I might mention them later.

There really is no wrong choice on defense. We can use upgrades at all 3 levels. You can make valid arguments for all of them.

We all know somehow someway McCaffery is going to end up on the Patriots. He's going to be the running back version of Edelman.

If we trade Kirk, we should go defense with the 2nd pick, defense with the 17th pick, trade a later pick for AJ McCarron.
