Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Master Tesfatsion on Twitter
Free agent Terrelle Pryor left his Redskins visit without a contract. That doesn't mean the Redskins are out on Pryor, but for now, they'll keep looking. The Browns just landed Kenny Britt on a four-year deal, increasing the likelihood that Pryor will be playing elsewhere in 2017. With Britt, Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Kenny Stills all off the market, Pryor is far and away the best receiver still available. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
i know i just saw that shit , i was really hoping to sign him,we might have to draft a rec. in the first round ugh , i,m really hoping we can sign logan ,or poa or hankerson as well as brown from the bills who plays ilb

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Read this though......and look at my last tweet....if they have this mindset, they are not willing to spend the money it takes to get Pryor here....

Redskins Free Agent Signings
Pryor would be nice but he's not going to be cheap. Unless we just have zero faith in Doctson it makes more sense to go after a mid level FA.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
While im open to getting Pryor here...I def not into giving him a lot of guarantee money. Folks, he is a journeyman with just 1 solid year under his belt at WR. double digit per year money is certainly out of the question. His persona is the definition of "get paid"
Glad to see when didn't bend, good move here by the FO. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Well let's see what kind of offers he gets elsewhere. It's never a good sign when a potential FA leaves the building without a contract, but he may not get a better offer (if the Skins offered him anything...). While I think he'd be a good addition, I wouldn't be willing to break the bank for him.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Well some good news. Thank god. We still need DL help, bad but I guess that is draft focused. I really like to see us bring in a RB though too, Kelley just doesn't impress me.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Pretty surprised Pryor signs a one year deal...would've thought he'd gotten a better deal from someone else.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
One year $8M for Pryor is a better deal than what Garcon and Jackson got at their age.
It's not a long term deal but if you're being intellectually honest here you have to give Bruce some kudos on this one. Good move. Suddenly we have red zone threats. 6'2" Josh Doctson who can jump out of the gym, 6'4" Pryor, and Reed. We'll need to come up with a deep threat in the draft though. Crowder's good but more speed would be a win. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
One year deal?
Fine. Wonderful actually. |

I was really hoping the team would genuinely pursue him. I expected him to be much more expensive. Really good move. He was a baller against us last year with a terrible QB. |

Really like to see us bring in an ilb...minter, Hodges or zach brown.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Wonder if the decision for a 1 year deal has anything to do with the Kirk Cousins uncertainty.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Pryor for 1 year is excellent. Literally no risk. If Doctson stays healthy we're Gucci at receiver next year. Colt McCoy should be thrilled by this signing.

Doubt it. I think Pryor's camp expected lots of interest and there just wasn't that much. OTOH, the Skins get a good receiver who just about matched Garcon for last season at a much cheaper price (and much younger). Add to that Pryor now knows if he has another very good year, he gets PAID. Doesn't hurt that he can box out guys OR even run the wildcat in the red zone. Nice deal. |

Plus he could be a stealth candidate for QB. Who knows what our thinking is on that topic these days... Lol |

If we have Kirk, Pryor will have a good year.

DeSean may have run a 4.35 at the combine but he's a 4.2 guy. Definitely faster. But I get your point Pryor is no slouch. I would rather have the red zone threat anyway, Jackson was great but he disappeared when the field got short. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Pryor brings that possession guy we need after losing PG. He also brings in hunger, which is always good. It wouldn't shock me to see him catch 100 passes

Yeah he didn't catch much at all within the 25yd area. Most were deep balls. He's always been that though |

We're going to go all defense on free agent 55% capable players and then draft all offensive players. |

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
I would LOVE Bennie Logan. Very good motor. Stout player.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings
Logan or any versatile DL would be a decent pick up depending on the deal. Quality franchises are using front loaded contracts lately to control future hits and dead money (love the Pryor deal). Joe Banner had a great tweet the other day that most FA signings end up not working out. The proper plan of attack is quantity (at a reasonable price) over aging quality and hope that you hit it big on one signing every 2 years. You build depth and create a culture with that plan (no more 4-12 or 3-13 seasons). I always liked the splashy signing and name recognition play, but comfort is fools gold, we are all arm chair QBs.
