Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Matt Khalil was cut by the Panthers after 2 injury riddle years, I would sign him as a backup, Khalil at one time was considered to be the next great T. Would be a nice replacement for the Nsekhe loss. Bashaud Breeland is available, I would sign him on the cheap.

What's the latest on Josh Johnson?....does the Redskins front office feels he's worthy of a 3rd string gig ?

Eh if we will let Devin Thomas wear Art Monks number I am okay with this guy wearing 21. |

devin thomas wore #11. and i say let him wear it

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
If ST's family gives their blessing I'm ok with him wearing 21.

Collins seems like a great guy and all, but he sort of put the ball in their court. To me that's wrong. Don't openly put the pressure on the family. I personally don't want him wearing it. Then that will open the door for every guy that idolized him to want to wear it. He's a free agent that wasn't even drafted here, didn't go to Miami and so on. Plus if he plays poorly then it might get ugly for him here. Wear #36. |

Dt wore #11 in 2008 and 2009 and then for some strange reason was in 81 for four games in 2010. It was very weird. |
We might have the worst offense right now in the national football league ,I'm pretty sure we do
I don't even think that is even debatable. If upgrades aren't made we could have the 85 Bears defense and still get double digit loses. |

No way Thomas was given 81. There would have been a fan revolt. |

He did, I vaguely remember it and PFR confirms it https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/ThomDe02.htm Don't remember why though, number shortage?? |

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
I would defer to Snyder and Taylor's family to make the decision on #21. Snyder felt Taylor's loss very deeply - he has said he felt like a son to him. If he and Taylor's family are comfortable with it, then I will be.
There are not many decisions I would trust Snyder to make, but this is one of them. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Per keim
Redskins are meeting with Dominique Rodgers Cromartie today, he's coming out of retirement.... Update: He is taking a physical and could play FS for the team. |

On record first as garbage signing if true
It's official, DRC is a redskin. Per @JPFinlayNBCS DRC has signed a contract with the #Redskins adding veteran depth to the secondary. It is anticipated that he will transition to the FS position. #HTTR |

Yeah I'm assuming he's just a camp guy for insurance but we will see |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
LMAO at DRC signing. The guy barely played last year and is 32. This is a total waste of time signing.

Just think it's for depth, I highly doubt he is a starter |

I trust there is minimal guaranteed money.
They still have Apke.............just kidding |

Depth for a playoff run maybe? I don't know WTF this front office is thinking. It's like they want to win just enough games to prevent us from a top 5 pick while not having a realistic shot at the playoffs. Why not get some young fresh legs some playing time. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Who care he is done there are so many safety's and cornerback,s available and this is what we do 😡😡just proves once again are front office is lost in outer space .
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Bruce just pull the same shit with Orlando Scrandrick...Its disheartening to see the same useless tactics in teambuilding employed over and over again.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Apparently the skins wanted him last yr but he chose Oakland.. I still believe they will address the FS position , DRC shouldn't be the answer
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Depth/camp body perhaps. Kinda like the Keenum situation, nothing to get excited or upset about. Meh signing, just like every other signing after the first few days of free agency.
Some of you need to chill the F out and perhaps take a break from this site, if you are reacting so upset about this. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Just imagine if we had signed 35 year old Antoine Bethea
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
DRC played with Collins in NY right. May think the 2 have a working understanding.

2018: He was named the Cardinals starting free safety, starting in all 16 games. He finished the season with a team-leading 120 tackles, four pass deflections, and a career-high three sacks. Ill take it. |

Ha...well I rather have that band aid over DRC...and when I hear moving to Safety...ya know, we've seen this story. I, like most would like to see a 3 year deal with a better option...Just seems perfect time to add 2 guys at the same time who can grow into a unit for the next several years. Were pulling ole Bruce tricks again...fans aren't dumb, we know Bruce, we know how he operates. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Nicholson could still be that guy if he gets his shit together.
Nicholson could still be that guy if he gets his shit together.
Although he is young, there has been a lot of good talk about Collins character and leadership. Hopefully some of that rubs on Nicholson. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Why are we acting like DRC has no value at all? He's a shell of his former great self but he still contributed last year in Oakland, mostly as a slot corner. Most importantly he offers roster flexibility - give him a look at FS and if Moreau can't go for whatever reason then he can slide into the slot.
He's probably looking at a $1M contract with incentives. I don't understand the hate, nobody on the team said they were planning on handing a starting job to him. I see it as a smart depth signing. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Bring him to camp and see what he can do. It will be easy to cut him if need be. It doesn't stop you from making other moves.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
Exactly.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
So who are the best free agent guard fits who are still available?

It's the off season and it's free agency. We are here to discuss what we like or dislike about what our favorite team is doing. No one has gone off the deep end about this useless signing. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
I'm not upset about DRC signing, I think it's a great depth move. I don't know much about DRC beside his highlights, if his approach to the game is similar to AP's then our young DBs will benefit from this greatly.

I say do a fan lottery choose seat at beginning of game and boom one game contract. Win win win. Dan gets more butts in the seats. Skins get a guard and fans get the enjoyment of someone getting trucked by a real nfl player |
