Oh, I totally believe the reports. Dan Snyder just can't help himself. He is bound to make another mess of things and we are destined to once again bemoan the consequences of his ill-advised actions. |
Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...
I think they end up with Daniel Jones, maybe at 15, or they might maneuver up or down to get him depending on how the top 14 flushes out. I don't see anything drastic happening as far as a trade up into the top 5 - that would be stupid :cheeky:.
Here's my prediction for the QB destinations: Murray = Raiders Lock = Giants Haskins = Dolphins Jones = Redskins Not necessarily in that order. |

Hopefully any trades we see will be us moving BACK and not up. If we go QB at 15 I'd prefer it be Lock. We shall see... |

I def don’t think they will reach like this. I think if you look at any decent scouts top 25 board then you assume one of these guys will be a redskin by end of night. |
Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...
From JP Finlay, I hope he’s right:
The Redskins hold the 15th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, and after a flurry of rumors and speculation about what might happen on Wednesday, we're going to keep this simple. Multiple talent evaluators have told NBC Sports Washington that this will be the wildest draft in recent memory. There is no consensus what happens with the first pick, no consensus on the QB rankings after Kyler Murray, and the scene looks set for a lot of trades. Since the first round projects to be so volatile, and because the Redskins don't pick until nearly midway through, here are 15 thoughts about Thursday night. Kyler Murray will go first overall to Arizona. The Redskins will not trade up into the Top 3. The Redskins will not trade up into the Top 5. Drew Lock will be the next QB off the board. There could be a Laremy Tunsil type of situation. Either Miami or Cincinnati will take a quarterback. Boston College guard Chris Lindstrom goes in the top half of the draft. Montez Sweat could slide in this draft, and it might not just be about medicals. The injury issue will impact Rashan Gary. The Redskins will take a defensive player with the 15th pick. Nobody knows what the Giants will do, and they like that. Four QBs will get drafted in the first round. Five QBs might get taken in the first round. The Redskins will not take a wide receiver in the first round. Don't close the door on Josh Rosen landing in the NFC East. These are thoughts. Not necessarily predictions, but much effort has been exerted in obtaining the information that went into these ideas. Stay. Tuned. It's going to be wild. |

Point taken...it would seem after McCloughan taught them how to draft they would have learned a lot after the Robert Griffin debacle....but it just wouldn't surpise me at all if they are insane enough to make a foolish trade like that... |
Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...
IDK guys. The more I read, hear and think about it, I would not at all be shocked if Washington moved up to the 4 spot in a trade with Chucky. To get ahead of the G-Men at 6 and pick Haskins.
I keep thinking about how much cap the team has allocated to the QB position, and the only sensible approach it to take a QB in round 1, which gives you five years to build around him on a cheap contract. Just makes sense to me is all. I still think Haskins is the top QB in this draft and I hope you guys get him. |
Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...

I’d punt on QB this year. Load up everywhere else. This QB class outside of Murray is mediocre at best.

This is by far my first choice with the QB position this year. But ive been saying it, QB class next year is balls deep in talent. |

Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...
My vote would be to load up on D since this draft is so deep on defense. OLB, ILB, and S are real needs and there are some good options. We could be selective at G, TE, and WR if high rated players end up slipping to our selection spot. I certainly would not trade picks to move up -- we're just not close enough to being a real contender for that to make sense.

Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...
Ever notice how the national media - the ones aligned with ESPN and the NFL Network - are the ones breaking the most bombastic rumors on Twitter? They have us calling about moving up in the draft, they have us fixated on certain quarterbacks, etc.
But the local guys - JP Finlay in particular - keeps saying they're likely to stick at 15 and take an edge rusher unless a QB falls to them. Hmm... I wonder why the national outlets who SHOW THE DRAFT ON TV would want to see interest piqued? Can't have anything to do with ratings, can it? Lying season doesn't just apply to coaches and GMs. Consider the sources for all convenient leaks that just so happen to come out during draft week. |

I can see them moving up a couple, but not into the top 5. My money is on the either staying put or moving back and ending up with Jones. |

Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...
Cooley on Sheenhan Podcast today is fucking killing Haskins as a terrible QB and goes after OSU excuse for weak Pro-style scheme.
Haskins benefited greatly as OSU has 3 NFL WR and a stout Oline. FYI Parris Campbell is a monster. |

There's no definitive call being made, it's being released the day of the draft.. To me, it's either a late attempt from his agent to hopefully make sure Sweat's condition doesn't cause him to fall too far OR it's like you said, big-box media drumming up interest. |

Re: With the 15th Pick, the Redskins select...
I listened to Cooley. I have to say I totally disagree with him about Haskins. You just don't have that kind of production against good competition and not be a baller. I wanted to ask Cooley did he watch the Michigan game? Northwestern or Washington? If so then how in the world did he come to his conclusion? It makes no sense. The stuff about his footwork also makes no sense. The guy works the pocket and actually steps up in the pocket. He also rolls out to both sides.
IDK if we should draft Haskins at 15. But I just don't see what Cooley is seeing. I see a guy in Haskins who would be the first pick in the draft if he stayed another year. |
