Took awhile to get there, but glad we made it![/quote] Well the unarmed rioter was hanging out with other rioters who were stabbing officers in the eye and pulling off their facemasks so they'd be exposed to tear gas, not to mention crossing the last line of defense with lawmakers who were standing 50 feet away, so I really don't have any sympathy for her or anyone else who died while trying to take over the Capitol. |

If it makes you feel any better sd, you and cred are the exception. But in the same way Chico sees AOC as a nut for wanting a living wage for all Americans, or healthcare that doesn't bankrupt everyone except the rich, we see people like Michigan Senator Mike Shirkey in the same way. When someone prominent uses his/her platform to endorse absolutely insane conspiracy theories, like Shirkey, or Boebert/MGT, you have two choices. You either condemn it, or you're endorsing it. Even if you're silent on it it's still looked at as endorsing it because you aren't speaking up against it. What purpose does calling an attack with hundreds of clips of video evidence, cell phone data pinpointing extremists at the Capitol, and people who were there witnessing it, a hoax? |

Re: Chaos at the Capitol: New thread edition
Doesnt this impeachment (which will not end with impeachment) just continue to give oxygen to the far right nut jobs.
"Big protest january 6, be there it will be wild" trump tweet "Lets have a trial by combat!" - gulliani at the protest before they marched on the capitol I dont know. There needs to be more of a direct connection imo. I thinks its to early honestly. We know the trump campaign financed a big chunk of the protest, did they know the protestors would break into the capitol? Did that rep Goelbert really give a tour a day before to people who then stormed the capitol? Were the emergency buttons rely ripped out of dem offices before the storming? Did some capitol police work with the stormers? Why werent there more security? Whose call was it to have paper thin security when everyone in the country sitting at home knew shit was going to hit the fan. No way the Dems and investigations have completed their work. And if they did complete their work .. it sounds like all my questions above came back as a no. Either its too early or they found nothing and am going on some Trump incited the riot by indirect influence and words of encouragement. Really? impeachment over some indirect encouragement? need more than that. Need concrete hidden connections and emails showing trump knew rioters would challenge the capitol. otherwise .. just let all that Q Anon nonsense die down. Let the country heal. move on to boring politics. ------------ edit - gulliani is an absolute traitor piece of shit that needs to get his face smashed in. he must be going through dementia. |

This is the part that is frustrating. But when you think about it, it's completely understandable. You're (every person here including myself) just way less likely to bring up negative issues about someone or the party you generally support. It's just human condition. And you're way more likely to point out issues of the people you don't support. And there are more liberals here than conservatives, which makes sense based on where the team is located. So as a conservative, me expecting most of you to come in here and bash BIden, AOC, etc. on a regular basis is simply not realistic. But it still gets frustrating. Damn brain is weird. I know the reasons, but still don't always accept them. Below isn't a direct response to you, just a general comment about the border: NO ONE WANTS KIDS IN CAGES! It didn't put a smile on my face when it was happening under Trump and it doesn't now. But there are no easy answers to how to handle thousands and thousands of people coming across our border regularly. We need to deter people from coming here illegally and work on upgrading the legal immigration process. Until people feel their chances of getting here and staying are way less than their chances of being arrested and sent back, people will continue to come. Why wouldn't they? They're just playing the math. |

Trump ripping them from parents? Laughable. I guess Obama ripped them as well...since the same policy as Obama admitted? Kids in cages is the right way now? This is exactly the criticism from the left previously and the goal post moving. Unaccompanied minors placed in holding cells were kids in cages Punch. Period, end of story. That’s the original frame. Stick with it, don’t change the scope aka move goal post. Same as building the wall which Biden is now considering. A wall is a wall. I know it’s hard to deal with receipts |
