The man took over a Historic Franchise that was among the most valuable sports team out there ( which how is that possible with a supposed racist name ).. swore he would never change the name and then caved in over money .. then because of money REFUSED to listen to fan base on the new name .. I'm excited for the new brand, honestly sometimes a fresh start is needed. Redskins will always be our team and past time. That logo WILL NEVER be topped.. It was always the best logo in sports IMO. But lets embrace that new W , kinda like the bears use their "C" and also have an actual logo of a bear as well.

Well those teams did actually move from one location to another.

I still refer to the Wizards as the Bullets but not all the time and I am not anal about it. Bullets is just cooler. Most agree.

Coming back to say a final goodbye to you all. It's been awhile since I've posted, but if the new name is any of these generic ass military ranks, I'm out for good. I have no connection with the military, despise the forever wars and want no part of rooting for a team that celebrates that. Yeah I appreciate the sacrifice and bravery of the individual men, but fuck the federal government, and for that matter if it's the Monuments, fuck that too. The soul of DC had never belonged to them, this team represented the regular people that lived there, not the fucking oligarchs or their genocidal powers. Redwolves, War hogs, or something else we could build a fun identity or give a nod to the old, I'd have been there for. I have them a chance to do this right, but they've of course failed again. This franchise is over, and Dan Snyder asking with the SJWs have destroyed it. I wish you all the best, and I'm sad as shit this is over, but it's time to move on from this abusive relationship. Hail to the Redskins!

This.. For the fans that are in their 30's or younger I suspect that it is easier than someone who's in their 50's like myself. Or the ones that are older than me.

I grew up in DC and went to numerous games at RFK. Redskins is in my blood and that will simply never change until I die off.

This new stuff is just too phony. It's BS made up by the wokeness climate we live in. I wish Dan stood his ground on it. I would have forgiven him for all his BS over the years. An owner like Mr Cooke or even Al Davis would have fought it until the bitter end.

It's like I'm in too deep now to really be able to switch favorite teams. What happens if in 5 years somehow they magically win the super bowl, and they aren't my team anymore? It will never happen with Shithead, but it's just another reason why this will always be my team. Invested too much shitty time to leave. I'm 60. To me they will always be the Redskins. Total bs they changed the name and then did not want to go with Wolves/Redwolves. If they really cared about the fans they could've got things moving more than a year ago on that and gotten it done. Money talks.....


My father was in the military for over 25 years. The first game he saw was the Giants and the Redskins was in 1966 Redskins 72 Giants 41 and that is what got hooked on the Skins. We used to listen to them on the radio when I was a kid

I hope it is Sentinels, but most likely not going to happen, for reasons mentioned before. At least with that you can tie it in with the military but don't have to.


That being said they will always be my team, just hoping the name is something stupid and lame.

I'll still root for the team because I can't root for any other one, and I'll still come to this site because there's no better place to talk ball.

In the end I think the only thing that changes is that I won't spend a dime on this franchise if the name is a boring military one. No way I spend 100$+ on a Commanders jersey. No way I spend God knows the F how much to travel to an empty/filled with opposing fans stadium to root for a team with no identity, no fight song, nothing for the fans to get together and cheer...
