Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
Ouch.. I'm sure the owner plays a role in it as well - he was too quick to fire Rivera, which shows he can be impatient.

It was going to be a steal no matter what. Browns are lucky they got anything. |

Also:
@TomPelissero Baker Mayfield and the #Panthers host the #Browns in Week 1. |

the Panthers really traded away...
2nd 3rd 4th 4th 5th 6th all to assemble a QB room of: Sam Darnold Baker Mayfield Matt Corral |
the Panthers really traded away...

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
Andrew Brandt is roasting teams:
@AndrewBrandt Last year the Panthers paid Teddy Bridgewater $7 million to play for the Broncos. This year the Browns are paying Baker Mayfield $10.5 million to play for the Panthers. Net gain to Carolina: $3.5 million. |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
It'll be interesting to see how Mayfield does in Carolina. Honestly think last year a big part of his subpar play was due to the shoulder. Cleveland sure was ready to move him. I don't think the kid is done at all yet and could see him still doing well.

I agree about the shoulder part. Mayfield is a good game manager, he won't win you games by himself but he can help team win games if everyone else on the team help out. That is enough for some teams but I'm not sure if it's enough for Panthers, their defense took a step back last year after a great year in 2020. |

Who would you rather have at QB, Dak or Lamar Jax?
I’d lean Dak, I just take the better passer |

Dak , hes the better passer but Lamar is fun as hell to watch

Baker will not be handed starting job:
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/07/12/scott-fitterer-this-is-an-open-competition-at-quarterback/ Imagine he'll still start but a predictable comment at this time from Carolina. Can't see Mayfield being happy at all playing backup lol even though Carolina may not care. |

Of course he belongs who in the actual fuck approved the original ballot?? Also, the original ballot that came out was chuck full of spelling errors and had Petibon as HC from 81-92. FFS. This team seriously can't get out of it's own way, the ineptitude is just astounding. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
And I'm sorry but RG3 doesn't belong on this list. If you include him Brad Johnson also needs to be there.

Snyder allegedly had nothing to do with it, but if the people putting together the list are thinking what would Snyder want to see, that's still a big problem |

I’d like to be the fly on wall when someone actually presented the case against putting Trent on the ballot when getting this together for the org. Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
Kevin Sheehan mentioned this the other day on his podcast, the fact that we even know who Jason Wright is is strange. If you asked me who runs the business side of the Mets I'd have no clue. But this is the setup Snyder goes with, he likes to push others into the spotlight so they can take the heat for him.
Wright needs someone to consult with who fully understands and appreciates this franchise's history to avoid these embarrassing gaffes like the years on the crest and now with this 90th anniversary stuff. Why he doesn't seek someone out like that is beyond me. |

To me it doesn't make sense, especially how you have two players you are honoring who left the team in bad terms. |

I don't believe for one second that anyone in the organization other than Snyder makes any decisions. The idea that Snyder's wife has been running things while he "steps away" from the business is laughable. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
Much as I hate Snyder and would love to be able to blame him for everything, many of the cockups of the last two years have been mid level lack of attention by, what feels like at least, marketing people who don't know anything about football or the history of the club. There are some seriously high salaries paid to people who should be taking care of these details before it reaches Dans desk if it even does. I can't believe it was Dan who got his crayons out to design the crest, or that Dan insisted on doing the Sean Taylor presentation in front of some portable toilets. I assume Dan pays people to maintain the stadium and it is not him going around fedex with a wrench and duct tape on a Sunday morning to secure railings and fix plumbing issues.
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
Of course he is hiring these idiots and should be holding them accountable but I suppose the only requirement in working for Dan is to kiss his ass and don't squeel to the press/cops/congress.
Ok rant over, I can go back to not thinking about the little turd |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Post Draft Edition
Kyler Murray signs new deal…
Murray’s deal will reportedly keep the quarterback under contract with the Cardinals through the 2028 season. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the deal is worth $230.5 million with $160 million guaranteed. Murray now has the second-highest average annual value of a QB contract at $46.1 million per year. |
