I think the McCloughan genius ship has long set sail.
He got drafted late and cut, and hasn't seen the field. He's a depth piece, if guys go down. I'd rather go with the same guys and see if it improves. I still have confidence in Jackson. I could be wrong, but I feel like he's the default guy to blame. Even though the team insists on using him against his actual strengths.
The 49ers were pretty bummed that he got claimed on waivers, kid can play. |

Maybe he can. But you don't risk putting a player on waivers that can play, if he's possibly that important. Maybe the 49ers messed up. I hope they did. But unless he's crushed it here, I don't think we need a major shake-up in the secondary in week 2. |
I love our TE's, we went from an area of weakness to one of great strength. All 4 can play, Bates is an animal blocker (love watching him kick ass). Love Rogers, young stud. Loaded at tight end.

Re: Jags Postgame
I can't get over that bunch of 4 play we ran. I had been hoping to see that kind of creativity from Scott Turner. With all the offensive talent we have, we should be able to bamboozle defenses on a regular basis.

It's nice to now have a QB whose skillset allows ST to open up his playbook. Just scratching the surface... |
Re: Jags Postgame
This offense actually has tons of weapons. So refreshing. We can spread the ball around so much. Especially with Thomas back sooner than expected.

I have always loved Thomas since year 1 with us, but dang he looked slow last Sunday. It's obvious that he still hasn't fully recovered from the injury yet. Kudos to him for braving through it though. |

Definitely going to take some time to work through it, hopefully by around mid-season he is back at around 100%. |
They should throw Tariq Castro Fields out there, the 49ers loved him. https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49ers/why-ex-49ers-gm-believes-tariq-castro-fields-teams-best-2022-draft-pick
I have alot of problems with this staff like questionable play calling, and coming out of the gates slow to start and after the half, but my biggest knock is the ability to evaluate talent. I really feel like we reach on alot of guys in the draft, let go of valuable assets, and sign real questionable players to big contracts. We do not always have the best guy on the field either imo. |
Re: Jags Postgame
Jamin Davis needs to show something quick. I’m tired of the excuses.
He hasn’t made a 1 impact play. What a waste Go out and get Blake Martinez sit Davis if we need too |

Yeah you can def tell he needs to get a lil more healthy, but he needs to work with Wentz too grow that connection. Wentz is gonna love Thomas as that big target in the middle of the field. They gotta work on that chemistry |

Just watched LSU's best defensive player tear his ACL a couple weeks ago celebrating a play. Not even anything crazy. There are plenty of ways to celebrate without leaving the ground. |
Re: Jags Postgame
Man is Terry a gem -- we should clone that guy.
