I should have put or in front of QB. Yes, I know Harrison is a WR.
I was just implying that he won't go No. 1 overall because he plays WR instead of QB. I wasn't stating you didn't know what position he played. |

Unfortunately Peds are in every walk of life and these days they seem to be protected and in some cases celebrated.. it’s damn sick! However that football player didn’t have nothing to do with it but you are correct there were higher ups that didn’t do jack … that’s just as bad In my opinion ! |

It’s funny because it is in no way intentional but there always seems to be one there for the taking and every time im like SD gonna like that. |

Things may get interesting if Penix is sitting there when we pick.

Watched that whole game last night. I'm a fan of his. His throwing motion is so interesting. But the ball always gets where it needs to be. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
For weeks Ive been talking about it, and it is going to happen. We are going to be sitting at 3-4 in the draft and one of the big two quarterbacks going to be there along with one of the two big Tackles and it is going to be a decision I’m glad I’m not making. Sam not helping his case last couple weeks though ill tell you that.

He will 100 percent be sitting there. He is not going top 5. He isn’t going first round most likely. Hard pass. Especially in first or second round. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Penix has way too many injury problems. Dude has torn both knees already. If you can get him in the 2nd sure but not at 4 or 5

Not so fast, after the bye we will most likely be back down to 7th and I cannot see the Giants Bears or Jets winning anymore games to move us back up. |

If they all lose they will have the same record. We lost head to head to two of them and will lose to the jets. Not sure how sos will play out but picking 3-4 is still right there in front of us. Bears play the Cards and the Browns. We are not sniffing another win. The Jets D will absolutely bury us. |

SOS has priority over head to head and our SOS is higher than most everyone except Tennesee. Every time Dallas and Philly win it gets higher. |

I know that it counts over head to head. That is so stupid. Anyway the Bears will win another game and the Jets will beat us. Hoping maybe the Eagles rest everyone their last game against the Giants. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Getting the 3rd pick would be awesome. AZ will win another game IMO maybe 2. They have been competitve all yr

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
My perfect scenario is we get pick 3 and the #4 owner wants it for a QB. We trade down, get our new LT and an extra pick or 2. Unless Maye and Williams go 1 & 2, which is possible if Chicago and NE stay in top 2 places.
I doubt the Cards would trade up for a QB, and more likely to be competing for the top OT candidate (or Harrison?). Though it would be great if the Cards are at #4 and desperate to get Harrison... |

I don't think their current front office/staff drafted him, so if they could flip him for a second it totally makes sense to go QB, they have an extra 1st anyway so they can fix OL or WR with that pick. As you say, very interesting |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
i wouldn't pass up Harrison JR
|
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
We're not winning another game. This team has quit. So it's really all about what the other sucky teams do the rest of this season.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Rivera really put us in a tough spot with his handling of the oline. We could get Harrison and Maye and it would not matter. This oline allows for roughly 2 seconds for a play to develop. We simply cannot avoid oline in the first round. Unless you are willing to wait two more years for us to compete. This offense with a better oline would allow us to compete. I think the recent poor play from Sam is the pressure finally getting to him. He is definitely pressing.
|
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
If Harrison Jr is there for us just take him, can't get hung up on needs at the top of the draft. BPA all the way.

You can build the o-line through mid-lower picks and free agency; and most importantly, better decision makers in the front office. If one of the top elite players is available, like Maye or Harrison, you take them. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I think its a moot point about us considering a QB at #3 or #4. Bears and Patriot's are going to be taking the top 2 QB's with the 1 & 2 pick. I could live with Harrison over Fashanu at #3 or Fashanu or Alt at #4, but I couldn't live with us reaching for the 3rd QB. I don't think our next GM will be that dumb. One of the OT's, Harrison or more picks. Only approach that makes sense to me.

Best thing this team could have done was trade CY and MS.
Sweat has been ok but CY has doke jack shit in SF with the 2nd best pass rusher in the league on the other side. I can’t believe Ron took him over Tua or Herbert… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Pretty tough catch 22. At the current rate I don't care who you draft or put back there, they would have a very small chance at success. Fix the line and offensive philosophy and we would be talking about a higher chance for winning.

I'm honestly tired of the whole "trade down for more picks" approach. If we don't trade up for a QB, we will likely be in a position to draft a top tackle or WR. Under this scenarios, we will still have two second round and two third round picks. That's plenty of draft picks to address holes in this team, while taking an elite top 5 draft pick. |

Yeah I agree. This offense needs another play making weapon......we don't have that with Terry or Jahan presently. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I'm not taking a wr. No way. I'm taking guys that can block, protect or rush the passer. I'm trading every single guy on this team that has a big contract or value. Payne, Allen, Samuel and Terry..bye. Love you guys but we gotta part ways. Give me as many draft picks as I can get. I'm going Jimmy Johnson style when he took over the Cowboys. Anyone w/ any value is getting traded.

Bengals said the same and took Chase, he's now a top 3 WR and makes huge plays every week. It's easier to find solid lineman than a WR1. Trent Williams isn't in this draft. We def need LT and RT bad though |

That is easy to say in retrospect but There are 3 Olineman that have the potential to be Trent like tackles. If we do not vastly improve the line it simply doesn’t matter who is throwing or catching the ball. Because no tandem can do it in two seconds. I love Harrison man but without pass pro it just doesn’t matter. |

you are assuming whom ever is drafting for us is going to be really good at it i rather give someone like RR have a top 5 pic that hopefully doesn't bust over him trying to find diamonds in the rough with multiply lower round pics it all starts with harris getting a good GM the whole trade down has become so cliché i am tried of hearing it |

Trent Brown RT - NE Jonah Willaims LT - CIN I'd try and get both of them at decent salary |
