Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Calia is not any one list opportunity that concerns, it’s just been now three off seasons with AP and it’s been average results at best
I guess the great expectations of him set the bar to high in my mind of him To date he is nothing special ( AP) |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
We signed Chennai, every time I say something AP makes me eat my words, lol
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
We just signed Chenal from Chiefs, I like this one.

LB Leo Chenal: Signing a three-year, $24.75 million deal with the Commaders. (Ian Rapoport)
That is good news. Young and ascending talent -- fast. |

Please -- keep trashing AP, and the next thing you know we will get Hendrickson here for a ham sandwich. (Could you imagine, actually?) |
I don't think we want him but the way things are going we might well need him
I may be in a minority here, but I like Deebo and thought he played reasonably well for us. He led in both catches and yards, and with all the problems we had on both sides of the ball, he wasn't someone that I worried about. And he did all that we asked and by all accounts was a good teammate. I'd be happy for him to return on a cap friendly deal. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I also like deebo. Just has to be the appropriate price.
|
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Word is we're going after Chaisson. Like this but it puts both Hendrickson and Edge at #7 in doubt if we sign him.
With Doubs off the table, do we go after Jennings? Only a year younger than Deebo... |

Me too. This is exactly what they need, some youth and speed at LB. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
So far I really like what Peters is doing in free agency. He got some help at DB, brings back Settle on the line, got a LB and an edge rusher. So far so good.
I'm guessing he's going to take a shot on Aiyuk. I'm torn on that one. |

Def like adding pieces at each level on the defense. Always gonna be a wait and see but these moves are checking out and boxes so far.

Rumours they got cold feet after the physical because of recovery time and possible degenerative condition. Talk also that the Ravens will go after Oweh as a replacement. Anyone think this is actually likely? Would leave a sour taste in a lot of mouths if they poach someone else's signing because they screwed up on a trade, never mind the sour taste the Raiders have from their withdrawing from it. |

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I’m not buying the narrative players don’t want to be here. The raiders and titans have been most active in FA and there is no way anyone is saying “a division with chargers, broncos and chiefs? This division is ours!”

There’s nothing to it. The chicken littles of the world have invented that bogus narrative. |
Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I think some people forget that we're competing with 31 other teams here and some of those teams were more successful last year, and aside from 2 years ago, we've been largely unsuccessful as long as some of these guys have been alive. We're middle of the pack right now, but generally on the rise. But we're not a top tier team with real SB prospects (yet), so some players are going to chase their dream now while in their prime. Others are going to maybe be more longsighted.
This is why we should be building primarily through the draft. Lock in a core of youth and let the other teams fight over most of the 27yo+ FA's. While the last 2 years made sense as a strategy given where we were (thank you Ron), I'm hopeful AP avoids win now trades and too much spending on older FA's, and really nails the draft. So far, I think, so good. |

I also like that it didn’t cost draft capital which we don’t have a lot of. I’m good with where we landed at edge. Micah Parsons had an interesting take on Oweh - I read that he thinks he’s underrated and is only going to get better. Hope that’s right. Oweh, Chaisson, and Armstrong at DE is looking pretty solid. Chenal and Luvu at LB. And Settle, Kinlaw, Payne, Wise, and Newton in the middle of the D line. Get Downs in the draft and we are a very different defense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I think Love is the pick with all these FA signings so far
It wouldn't be the worst idea, but if we don't grab a S or 2 this week, I'd be leaning more towards Downs. All but frees up the rest of the draft to go O. Plus there's time to sign another RB and/or re-sign McNichols, though neither would rule out Love as having potentially one of the best RB's in the league is enticing. There's also the WR question. Might put Tate in contention. Again, further FA signings are going to reveal if this is more or less likely. |

Yeah just to be clear - when I said I don't think we want him I meant we as in the team, I'm not sure they see him as a fit for the new offense. From a personal point of view I like him and think he played well last season in difficult circumstances. I'd be very happy to have him back at the right price. |

I think we are signing Ayuk, once he’s released at 4pm. I can see them bringing back Deebo.

How much cap space we have left?

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Commanders signed TE Okonkwo and safety Nick Cross.
