I missed the pick. Damn shame. I would have loved some Big Ten hogs up front on offense. 2012 will have plenty more though!!!!!!!!

Yes, agreed. Would love to add Jeff Maehl as well. Our WR corps would have a lot of quickness, and we definitely need to get younger there.

Guys guys. Lets not go all Vinny here. Hankerson was a hell of a steal. Lets not push it.

ILB, RB, OG, and maybe QB are the positions we should be looking at tomorrow.
The team had planned to draft him at No. 53 and No. 62 in the second round, but they opted to trade down both times and acquire more mid-round picks instead.

He was still on the draft board when the Redskins finally selected at No. 79 overall.
Seems like this guy would be a steal -- someone posted this a little earlier and seems like a great pickup in the 4th or 5th
So would him: Jacquizz Rodgers - 2011 Draft Tracker - SI.com

and him: Jeff Maehl - 2011 Draft Tracker - SI.com my poor man's Wes Welker

Great job tonight. Jenkins seems solid, didn't expect that pick.

Known for a few weeks now we liked Hankerson, that we could add him and multiple picks is great

We can use our 5ths to try to move up

QB is not a priority tomorrow

was shadowbyte sniffing glue during tonights thread?
Justin Bannan would not provide the pass rush abilities that Jordan would. Average 3-4 ends eat space; good ones make plays, too.

Look at the Jets, Steelers, and Ravens: they often spend first round picks on guys you pejoratively termed "space eaters."
Wrong, bud. I said spend 1st round picks on 3-4 DEs. Please provide the 1st round 3-4 DEs(not NTs) they have that such beastly pass rushers.

Pitt rarely spend 1st round picks on 3-4 DEs. Hood was the only DE picked by Pitt recently. Hampton is a NT, not a DE. Hood also was the very last pick in the first round.

Same with the Jets. Gholston was initially picked to be an OLB, but he failed at that, so they tried him at DE. Ellis is the only 1st round DE they picked that didn't fail out of the NFL. There are two other guys who flamed out.

Same with Baltimore. In fact, Ngata is the ONLY DL in their ENTIRE HISTORY that they took in the first round.

So, where are these 3-4 DEs being snatched out of the first round again???????????

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3

I like adding these guys just based on the fact that we have not been able to add a ton of players with a decent draft positions in years. The way they have moved back in the second was incredible. Top notch work, we can really build some depth with all the picks tom and at the very least we should get maybe 4 or 5 guys that can make the team.

Draft this man. You want smart, versatile, experienced, and high character guys? This man is a future starter.
Clint Boling, Georgia, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

Positives: Football smart, durable and very experienced against top competition. Quick feet and can get to the second level and hit a moving target. Technique and hand placement are good. Hands have some power. Can trap, pull and seal effectively. Decent drive blocker. Light on his feet and extends his arms well in pass protection. Excellent Intangibles.

Negatives: Not a great athlete. Marginal knee bend and plays high. Waist bends. May not be athletic enough for the NFL tackle position, and may not play with the knee bend and low center of gravity needed to succeed inside. Can be bull rushed. Struggled against elite competition, including Nick Fairley of Auburn.

I think he was having some Vinny flashbacks. It's hard to get used to having more draft picks at the end of the night than when you started.
