Baker has never been a DC. The change will have to happen off season i think. Actually, the defense settled down and played ok after a terrible start. They kept having bad field position but held Seattle on a few drives.
Cowboys are playing well on defense. But it's early. Long way to go.
My point is they play with intensity all the time, we don't. |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
Way too many "moral victory" type comments tonight. The only reason the score wasn't much worse is that the Seahawks shot themselves in the foot with penalties all night long. We got a couple of long passes and one late drive that was halfway decent. That's it.
Mistakes happen all the time, but our team cannot capitalize offensively on these mistakes or key defensive stops. For example, after the Redskins scored their first TD late in the first half, the defense stopped the Seahawks and the Redskins had a chance to put some points before the half ended. Instead they went three out and had to punt the ball. They get the ball in the second half, and they only muster a FG. You can't beat good teams by giving up these opportunities. We're bad and have issues/injuries on both side of the ball. |

Biggest missed play of the game. |

Sorry .. its just the first week of October, and knowing that we have a less than 1% chance of going to the playoffs, it would be nice at least entering December thinking we have a chance... |

We also had a lot 3rd and short non-conversions that killed us. I think that opening drive in the second half ended in a FG because of a missed 3rd and short. |

Who cares about intensity? A defense can play with all the intensity in the world, but if they're not that talented, have injuries, and their offense can't do much (especially during key situations) intensity won't matter. |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
Perry Riley, c'mon man. You can't let some no name back up TE beat you like a damn drum. That was a great play by Wilson, rolling left and making a really nice throw. But Riley simply has to make that play. They need to start taking him off the field in passing situations. Every team is picking on him.

He shouldn't have been playing later on after he got injured. He was hobbling to Lynch during that late TD. We also desperately need a good blocking TE. Niles Paul was horrible at blocking. |

Disagree, I'm tired on hearing we have no talent on D, 5 years of it. We have some holes like Riley, but we also have some nice young talent Robinson, Amerson, Breeland. Our CB's give opposing WR like a 10 yards cushion. That's on the coach. |

I agree with the cushion to the wr's. We've been doing that shit for way too long. Do they even teach bump and run at all?? |
I hate myself more than this franchise...
For watching them every week ... And I can't stop myself... What a complete waste of my life this team has been for 23 years.
Surprised you hadn't given up already after last week |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
Lol... Ok "bro", you aren't? I think any fan watching their team fail for 23 years and go 4-18 since we thought we turned a little corner... Meaning, we've actually hit a 22 game stretch that may be our worst ever directly after that...
Honestly... Only source of negativity is watching the skins every week. How anyone can argue the point I was making... Is just someone TRYING to be argumentative and holier than thou... But... I've been around since 2004... It's been seen a lot... Along with, like I said, a franchise that clearly does actually find ways to lose games, rather than find ways to win them like good teams (like the eagles... Sadly right now... and the Seahawks)
If they cause you so much misery just walk away. Surely you weren't expecting to win last night. I figured at this point we'd be 2-2 at best so no, I'm not miserable, plus it's just a game we have zero control over so it's certainly not going to ruin my day. On to the next. |
Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
Stats held up true on west coast teams struggling when they come to the east coast. We were just not good enough to capitalize on their mistakes.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread
There is a reason they had to hire a brand new coach. This team is a project. To get to the point where Seattle is now it took Carroll and company 3 or 4 years to completely rebuild that roster.
This team is not close to where it needs to be to compete. I'm not sure what you guys were expecting this year. If 3-4 years from now they are getting the same result... then there is a problem. |
