No excuse for rogue cops who abuse their authority, they need to fry. On the other hand why does the left always ignore what the "victim" of police brutality did to cause the negative reaction with police in the first place? On this latest incident, George Floyd tried to pass counterfeit money and resisted arrest. Last I checked, almost always victims of police brutality were not 100% innocent citizens, they initiated the events that led to the bad outcome.
97 million people is almost a third of what the US has. Sure, not the same, but Vietnam isn't some small country.
How about this? The country with the 2nd most confirmed cases is Brazil, with 465k confirmed. The #1 country? The US, with 1.7 million confirmed cases. How about top 5 countries by population? 1. China: 1.4 billion people, 84k confirmed cases, ranked #16 (I'll even grant you that number is horseshit because China has state-run media). 2. India: 1.3 billion people, 181k confirmed cases, ranked #9 3. United States: 327 million people, 1.7 mil confirmed cases, easily ranked #1 with almost 3.5 times the amount of cases as #2 4. Indonesia, 267 million people, 25k confirmed cases, ranked #33 5. Pakistan, 212 million people, 66k confirmed cases, ranked #18 How many of those other countries have an entire political party convinced the 'rona is nothing major, led by a President who didn't take it seriously for 2 months? You laugh off Vietnam as a joke because 97 million people couldn't possibly compare to 327 million, but you know what the difference is? They were aggressive in January, banning flights from Wuhan first, doing aggressive contact tracing and isolating anyone connected. And their people didn't try and fight it either, they trusted the doctors and science and quarantined themselves until they knew it was safe. A smart population, led by smart government who deferred to the experts from the start = 0 deaths, out of 97 million people. We'll be lucky if COVID is done by next year. Too many idiots demanding the public be reopened while we haven't even contained it yet. P.S. I agree with Killer Mike, but let's not pretend you'd be shitting on him too if he was up there saying "hey guys, it's ok to have an issue with CNN being biased, but let's not damage their property ok?" P.P.S. I'll never take you seriously if you won't lump Fox News into the same boat as CNN. They both do the same shit, present opinions from paid contributors with slanted coverage to tell the people how to think.
You know who laughed off the Wuhan virus in January too? The entire media and experts, your memory is short...stop trying to rewrite history. The only person talking about the virus was Republican Jim Cotton and he was accused of conspiracy theories and laughed out by the media. There is a collection of 50 plus headlines from the mainstream media saying don’t worry about caronvirus Mooby you know what you were doing in January? Bitching about the country killing a fucking terrorist...claiming ww3 had started and bitching about an impeachment which was a political failure and a nothing burger from the start. People accused the president of racism when he imposed the China travel ban...seriously. But yes Vietnam...lol. Go ahead and cherry pick the stats that support a narrative of how terrible the country Is and avoid the others that say our response has been inline and have avoided large death rates in other countries. You list China for some reason to promote their propaganda agenda while evidence exist in based on urn supply chain which suggest An increase of 40,000 Deaths in Wuhan alone in a 2 month period. But yes, round of applause for...checks note...Vietnam. Where have a third of the deaths occurred here? Any criticism for the outlier...you know CNN has the brothers on to do their comedy routine recently. |

Good morning bob .. hope all is well. If your first sentence says there is no excuse for police exceeding their authority and they need to fry .... whey then spend the next 5 sentences making excuses. I think this particular case was so blatant, so unnecessary that even very pro blue cannot justify or excuse this particular death. “Almost all” ... I would challenge that. A woman a nurse was killed by the police while she was sleeping in bed a few weeks ago. A aunt was shot and killed through her home window playing video games with her nephew she was babysitting. The police need to be held to a higher standard than they currently are in this country. The use of lethal force should be the extreme last resort. I understand police can be on edge responding to a report of a guy with a gun but when you have the guy on the ground begging for his life and your yelling him instructions to crawl to you and he does and you shot him 30 times? The guy a dad a pest control guy is dead and the cop is getting over 30k pension for the rest of his life. Police culture needs to change. The narrative that cops don’t lie needs to change. The police thinking they can pull the trigger at any slight thought needs to change. What’s the solution? Hell if I know man ... |

A mob of people are standing around recording the cops but nobody was willing to tackle the MF'er so that a life could be saved. But the problem are republicans...it’s a dishonest, and that bullshit looks like Russian propaganda...i guess it’s the alt right out there looting and committing all the violence too? Come on man, let’s put these political narratives aside...no republicans or Democrats are in favor of what happened to this man |

Re: When is Enough ,Enough?
Tackle a cop?? Yeah that's not going to end well. Instead of 1 dead guy there would be 2 or 3.
Tackle a cop?? Yeah that's not going to end well. Instead of 1 dead guy there would be 2 or 3.
I'll take my chances. I highly doubt they would kill me, but that split second of someone wrestling around with me is hopefully long enough for someone to get air / get their composure / get away and not be murdered. But I'm willing to die if I have to, so that i can save somebody else from being murdered. Not everyone is willing to take that risk to save a fellow man. Most people deep down are cowards. And that is what the police are betting on, that most people are too chicken shit to confront them on their BS, which is why we see them do what they do. But i have a feeling the tide is changing on that. There will be police reform that comes out of this, you can bet. And i do think seriously, we need some kind of good samaritan type law, that would allow a person to intervene in a deadly situation to prevent a cop from blatantly murdering someone. As soon as it gets signed into law, i guarantee you police abuse of powers goes way down. |

What could he really say that would help? I think he has waited too long to say anything on the subject. Plus, whatever he would say, even if it somehow would be helpful or relevant, most people would dismiss it as "F Trump" and go back to setting things on fire and smashing and rioting. Honestly at this point they need to bring in the military and stomp this out. It is already happening, someone fired at the military in Louisiana and they returned fire and now a person is dead. And it will probably happen in other places because there are groups that are stupid enough to engage the US military in a firefight and somehow think they will win. |

Re: When is Enough ,Enough?
Smart move by the white house to get him to read prepared politically thought out statements bc they need to do damage control to his "shooting starts" and only attacking dem governor tweets. His tweets about the dc mayor seem to be 100% false but he just can't help himself.
Now in November they can trot out his prepared written for him remarks to rebut his asinine tweets Edit - Reddit is a really good place to see what's actually happening. Just watched the 2 college students arrest in Atlanta .... Ducking no wonder those cops were fired. Police seem to be way more violent than the rioters ... Just watch the videis. It's crazy this is happening in america. Saw a cop push a reporter in the back into a fire. The reporter was kneeling to take a photo. |

If we’re talking about the decision to limit China travel, Trump has repeatedly said it was his decision and no one wanted him to do it. Turns out it was the right call, he gets credit from me for it (though I think he did it to irk China and not actually care about covid). If your talking about the prior travel bans he instituted early in his presidency re immigration .... well please ignore all this. —————— WASHINGTON (AP) — Defending early missteps in the U.S. response to the coronavirus, President Donald Trump has repeatedly boasted of travel restrictions on China that he suggests he decided on his own over the objections of health experts and saved “thousands” of lives. His claims aren’t substantiated. TRUMP: “We’re the ones that gave the great response, and we’re the ones that kept China out of here. ... If I didn’t do that early call on China — and nobody wanted that to happen. Everybody thought it was just unnecessary to do it.” — news briefing Wednesday. TRUMP: “Everybody was against it. Almost everybody, I would say, was just absolutely against it. ... I made a decision to close off to China that was weeks early. ... And I must say, doctors — nobody wanted to make that decision at the time.” — Fox News virtual town hall Tuesday. TRUMP: “I’ll tell you how prepared I was, I called for a ban.” — news briefing on March 19. THE FACTS: His decision was far from solo nor was it made over opposition from health experts, as the White House coronavirus task force makes clear. His decision followed a consensus by his public health advisers that the restrictions should take place. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who was coordinator of the task force at the time and announced the travel restrictions, said Trump made the decision in late January after accepting the “uniform recommendation of the career public health officials here at HHS.” While the World Health Organization did advise against the overuse of travel restrictions, Azar told reporters in February that his department’s career health officials had made a “considered recommendation, which I and the president adopted” in a bid to slow spread of the virus. Most major airlines had already suspended flights to China prior to the announcement on Jan. 31, following the lead of several major international carriers that had stopped due to the coronavirus outbreak. Delta, American and United cited a sharp drop in demand for the flights, and an earlier State Department advisory told Americans not to travel to China because of the outbreak. chico, just stop man. FUCK trump! https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/dc-bishop-outraged-trump-tear-gas-citizens-photo-op-church-062228439.html D.C. bishop 'outraged' Trump used tear gas on citizens for photo op at church The bishop for the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, Mariann Budde, called into Anderson Cooper 360 Monday night and railed against President Trump for staging a visit to St. John’s Church near the White House. As Trump prepared to speak in the Rose Garden, police in riot gear began violently removing protesters, who were standing with their arms raised, and using tear gas, to disperse the crowd so that Trump could safely make it to the church where he posed with a Bible for a photo op. “The president just used a Bible, the most sacred text of the Judeo-Christian religion, and one of the churches of my diocese without permission, as a backdrop for a message antithetical to the teachings of Jesus and everything that our churches stand for,” Budde said. “And to do so… he sanctioned the use of tear gas by police officers in riot gear to clear the church yard. I am outraged.” |
