Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
What sickens me right now is that yet again we have proved to have the worst yards-to-points ratio in the league. Our offense today, in terms of yards, was 13th in the league -- ahead of the Patriots (who scored 20), Texans (who beat us, 49ers (who scored 28), and Packers (who scored 16), for example. Yet EVERY team in the league, save the woeful Rams, scored more points than the Redskins. Eerily similar to last year in which we had a number of games with more yards, better time of possession, and even fewer turnovers and yet still managed to lose.
We have got to reverse that trend (and by that I don't mean lose the battle for yards, turnovers, etc.) At least the Cowpukes got trucked and Philly had to scramble. I hope the Giants lose in Detroit tomorrow, so we'll at least have good company, and at least we didn't lose in our conference. Hard to get too down -- right now, we're even with the Patriots, Saints, Packers, and Ravens -- teams with a recent history of winning a lot of games. But we need to bring it next weel, for sure. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Run game looked great...infact if we continued to stuff it down their throat the score would of been different.

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
D looked good. Our defense only have up, what, 10 pts? Not bad. Special teams.....garbage. Offense....garbage. 6pts? Seriously? Anyone can say whatever...but Griff looks like he really can't read a defense. Time time time is what everyone wants. If I went to work everyday for 3 years and couldn't figure it out after being(one of) the highest rated prospect(s) in my field....I would be shit canned. Just saying....
Flame on, or whatever....but Griff doesn't look like he knows how to read a defense or run an offense consistently. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
To me the game plan seemed like they were scared. You can send a back or TE over to Watt's side. There were hardly any passes over 5 yards. You mean to tell me an NFL offense can't run Jackson and Garçon on 10 to 20 yard routes? Either the coaches are coddling Griffin, or he's playing like John Beck. In the end, the game came down to the blocked punt, block fg and the fumbles, 4 plays.

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
It came down to everything you mention. When you get outcoached, and outplayed those mistakes will haunt you everytime. Good teams can sometimes overcome blunders. Bad teams never do.
Dude, are you kidding me? We have been losing for almost two full decades, with some one round playoffs appearances. The last time the Skins fielded a really competitive team was in '99, and in that I mean a team that could have gone to the big dance. 2012 was nice, but we weren't as dominant as in '99. Gibbs' appearances were nice, but how are you going to get anywhere with Mark Brunell? The folks in here are diehards and losing is unfortunately second nature to us.
Oh really? Thanks man I am new here didn't realize. Always nice when a veteran poster takes you under his wing. |

Any updates on the injuries?

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
we made good half time adjustments, but the playcalling in the first half was bad and not being able to throw it past 10 yards is pretty terrible. looks like the preseason woes carried over.
D looked good, two blocks on STs is terrible. but coverage and returns were better. kind of a mixed bag overall. it looks fixable, but it also looks like there's a ways to go. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
We need a Decade Team or something. Like a special avatar saying you are in the decade club. That be kind of cool. I still got a year to go.

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Where is SS, is he still celebrating the Jets win?

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
Only thing that bugs me, is how when RG is pressured he runds backwards. A few times had he stepped forward he wouldn't have been sacked, hurried or hit.
Offensive line - looked good running the ball. I think we needed some more runds in there, but given the untimely penalties made it a little more difficult. We basically gave up thowing the ball down the field. I thought we would have stetched the field a little more and at least given the texans something to think about. all in all, the defense played good - only giving up one big play. Special teams again was a joke. it will be a few weeks before people start calling for RG's resignation. |

certainly didnt look like we were calling pro pass plays. more of the same. holding onto the ball until you see your guy open vs getting rid of the ball on-time right before your guy makes his break and gets open ... maybe i missed it but did RG3 call a single audible or protection shift? very disheartening start to see the same issues manifest itself. |
Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread
I think we need to wait until the bye week to start calling for RG3's head. At least then the season will be more than halfway over. No knee jerk decisions til then.
