Garcon is a good wr but now he's an overpaid wr at roughly 7 mil per season. I guess he's being paid on potential and not production.

But isn't that what we killed the previous regime for? Paying players based on past production rather than potential? How can we determine overpaid or underpaid until we are a couple of years into the contract and see what he's producing?

I think the fact that the Browns and Vikes were after Garcon makes me okay with what we paid him. Overall there appeared to be a big demand for WRs from the get go and that drove up the price of all WRs.

We can determine it by the players resume. Plus free agent wr's usually don't pan out. If we had no intention of letting the young guys develop then why draft them? Could've used those picks on other positions. Now we have Garcon and Morgan which probably means less time and opportunity for Hank, Austin, Paul and Robinson.

Had the Giants gone out and got free agent wr's when Steve Smith got hurt then how would've Cruz gotten on the field? What about Wallace and Antonio Brown in Pittsburgh? Sometimes you gotta trust your scouts and coaching and let your guys develop.

Yeah but both of those teams have established QBs that helped develop those young WRs. Plus, when Big Ben took over in Pittsburgh, he had two experienced WRs in Hines (who was a Pro Bowler) and Burress. If you invest on a young QB, you want to give him weapons right away and not gamble with the development of young WRs.

What makes you so sure Hank won't see the field with Garcon and Morgan signing? Of the 3 WRs we drafted last year only Hank showed any promise. I predict Hank and Garcon will be our opening day starters with Morgan and Moss (if he stays) working the slot.

garcon turned down 5yr 35$mill from the colts, so we already knew 40mill was the base to get him... i'm fine with it, but if he signed somewhere else for that money, i'd be okay with that too. it was what he was going to get regardless.

Garçon was definitely the #2 WR available in free agency, and demand for his services was high. Anyone that denies that is just a hatter.

If you have a problem with Garcon then your really going to have a problem with RG3. He's all potential also and no production.

We tried for another WR in FA with Royal, anyone else think we will draft another WR? Joe Adams? Jurion Criner? Dwight Jones?

Yes, but likely in the 4th rd; Someone similar to Royal who can play slot and return kicks, like a T.Y. Hilton, or a Ryan Broyles... and since we didn't sign Royal, we'll end up drafting someone like him.

I'd much rather add Joe Adams than Either Broyles or Hilton. I like Brolyes a lot but the fact that he had the knee injury this season scares me away.

I wouldn't be upset if we do pick up Broyles though but I would prefer him in a later round (5,6 or 7)
