Richard Sherman and I think the Commanders might make a BIG trade offer to Chicago for the #1 pick which will be Caleb Williams.

I tend to agree. I suppose you could get a late round draft pick for him, but if he's not guy, he's a very capable backup at almost no cost.

If you keep him until another team gets desperate due to an injury or another coach's hubris makes him believe he can turn Howell into a star, then you might get considerable more than a late round pick, maybe even a couple of mid rounders.
I really don't care too much about that. Yeah it's a little weird but so be it. It's the incredible hype machine that is behind him. It reminds me so much of Chase and RG3. Then when you look at his games against top competition, it's pretty much average to below average. Where is his CJ Stoud type of game against Georgia?
I dont even find it weird, he does it to honor his mom

in 2022 vs

Stanford
Utah
Arizona
California
The Bowl Game

2023

Washington
Stanford
Colorado
Arizona State

Justin Herbert didn't have a game in college that made you say OMG, had no problem getting drafted and we can all agree that robert getting hurt derailed him because that rookie season he was 100% looking like he was worth the hype. Every #1 pick is gonna get hype. I am not even saying trade up to go get him but people saying he is gonna be a bust because of finger nail polish, or because he cried when he lost is crazy.

Stroud had a hell of a game vs Clemson, he also was playing with top notch college WRs, Caleb hasnt had that, holding that ND game over his head like its the end all be all is short sighted

I'm not ready to agree that Robert getting hurt derailed his career. What derailed his career was his ego and inability to deliver the ball on time to the right receiver from the pocket.

I dont think anyone can say that his injuries had nothing to do with his downfall, other things were a part of it, but his athletic ability and speed dropped with his leg injuries which hurt him from being able to get away from pressure like he could that first year
This would be MAGIC. I'm ok with taking a chance at another position at pick 100 and 180 tho
If you believe in Penix, it's great.

I would not be in favor at all. You can't come out of this draft without your QB of the future or multiple extra future firsts.

I personally wouldn't draft Penix in the top 4 rounds. He's gonna be injured, like always, in my opinion.

And a throwing shoulder dislocation.

That does instill some fear for sure. And im not the highest on Penix, just want to build around Howell which was the first part of the post. Having a very solid FA and draft adding multiple starters on the OL and D -- that would be fine for me. Giving Sam one more shot.

Unpopular opinion of the year, for sure. The only long term QB im high on is MAYE

Daniels or Maye would be my 1st choice.

But I'd be OK w/ this. I would assume this would mean a trade-down too, to get even more picks.

It's definitely exciting to see how this will play out. It's just so fucking nice, not having Snyder around to fuck it all up.

Love all the old accounts coming alive!

Don't downplay the importance of a QB.
The Chiefs don't win a playoff game without Mahomes.

If Caleb Williams is even close to Mahomes in talent, I would sell everything to bring him in.

The good news is leadership brought in a guy that coached both Caleb and Mahomes.
If they do or don't trade for the 1st pick, it's probably the correct decision.

Next question is how close is Daniels.
