Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.

SKINSGUY we all would love the skins to do it. But the rest of us are living in the real world. With this qb we have now and no depth because of lack of draft picks, its not going to happen unfortually. I wish they would run the table and make all of us eat our word but its not going to happen. Were not turncoats were just tired tired of seeing this team being run into the ground the front office {GIBBS,VINNY,LITTLE DANNY}. Gibbs needs a football noy vinny to give him advice. God it would be great to have a GM running this team instead of the Three Stooges we have now. Hail to the Skins

Is this Gibbs last year as Head Coach and will he be moved to GM?

Then the start of Gregg Williams as Head Coach?

That's the way I see it!

i don't see coach Gibbs leaving unless the skins pull off this monumental turnaround this season. no way he leaves a mess like this for someone else to clean up
I say keep Joe as the coach but remove him from all personnel decisions.
Does anyone still honestly believe that personnel at the skill positions (other than qb) is the problem? We have a freaking all star team. They just need to be coached and have plays called in a manner that takes advantage of their talent. How does Saunders go from having a powerful offense in KC with trent green (he puts up #'s in the system, but no way he's a "premier qb.") and a bunch of 2nd and 3rd tier wideouts, to nothing but 5 yard out patterns, screen plays and running the ball 75% of the time with a) Santana Moss- a top 10 receiver in the league b) Antwaan Randel El- a great all around weapon c) Brandon Lloyd- not a #1 but definitely an above average #2 d)CLINTON FUCKING PORTIS e) Chris Cooley- a clutch te/hb who's emerging as a leader on the team...? I just don't get it. It all looks so good on paper. These are legit players who have played at a high level in the NFL. This offense is like taking filet mignon and making a burger out of it. The meal just doesn't live up to the ingredients. And the defense would be a hell of a lot better if we could sustain drives to keep them off of the field.

Agreed.

I don't see talent as a problem right now.

The pieces of the puzzle are there, it's just not coming together for a variety of reasons.

Rumor on "Redskins lunch" is the Dan is going to buy out Gregs 1 mil head coach option, and hire Jeff Fisher as the HC. This all hinges on Joe2 wanting to leave. Larry was not endorsing this but, Bram was..........maybe. I personally cannot believe any of it and would view Joe's departure at this time as catastrophic. I would not mind considering Jeff Fisher when Joe does leave, however.

Interesting. I've heard from several people that Dan don't like Williams and his abrasive personality. Plus, what's a million to DS? That's nothing

Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.

I originally thought "WHAT A BUNCH OF BS". The more I thought about it, I totally can believe the DAN would plan ahead like that, (not a bad plan) or if available after the season, try to bring JF on the payroll (in some role), even if Joe stays, to facilitate a smooth transition afte Joe2's contract is up. As you say, what's a mil to the Dan? Problem is GW. he won't take that well.

Hell he spent around $8M to dump Coles so $1M to pay off GW would be a drop in the bucket for him. I think it was just added as an extra incentive to keep him here, but it's certainly nothing that will lock him in to the job that's for sure.

Jeff Fisher, hmmmm, very interesting. Personally I don't want to think about life after Gibbs right now, but I've always thought Fisher was a great coach. Not a fan of his redneck mustache look, but I could live with it. ;)

Joe's my man, always will be. I lived in Houston during his tenure. Jeff's a good dude! Not a bad choice for post Joe2

jeff is better than a guy like billick. as as the owner of a business, you've got to have contingency plans.

Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.

Little Danny probably doesnt like GW because he doesnt kiss his A-- like Gibbs and Vinny do. GW know he doesnt have to put up with his B.S. He'll get another job easily.

Re: Joe And Vinny Must Go.

Would be great to get Fisher he a tuff hard nose coach is what this team needs. Not like this candy a-- training camp we had this season. Training camp set the tone for what was going to happen this season. The only drawback to having Fisher is he would have to put up with Vinny and Little Danny Boy. We need a Gm like right now to run this team, not the clowns that are doing it now. So unfortually that the reason i dont think Fisher would come here and ruin his reputation.
But you know what?

They found ways to win.

I really don't care how they looked, the bottom line was they won games.

There's a very fine line between winning and losing, and right now we are finding ways to lose where last year's team found ways to win.

For the record I also recall them trouncing Dallas and NY late in the year.
The big difference is last year, the games were close. This year, we're getting blown out. This year, there's a very thick line between the games won and the games lost. We are a bad team this year, and I can't pinpoint what the problem is, other than to say the defense isn't clicking, and we've got very inconsistent O-line and QB play. Perhaps we should blame it on the voluntary (in our case almost mandatory) offseason workouts, which are supposed to help keep players strong, but in our case, it seems to have taken a toll on the players health. Either that, or we're plain unlucky.
