Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
he couldn't be any worse than novak, and is probably better than him on kickoffs (i cant really remember), which we desperately need help on. our opponents are starting at the 35 constantly it seems
Yep.... Opponents starting at the 35. Just like last year and what does Gibbs do......bring back Hall. |
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
No, it's because he was the reason we BEAT DALLAS!!! You can't help but LOVE HIM!!!
|
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
I'm sentimental. Perhaps he he will improve. You will notice, I did not advocate not making a positive change, if possible. only hanging onto him as well

Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
Maybe it's because he's a hometown kid, but I really don't understand people rationalizing keeping a kicker who's hitting on 50%.
It has alot to do with his attitude. I know he's 50% and am NOT arguing against replacing him with a quality kicker... but Vjadt just lost his job due to performance. Bringing him in does not solve our problem and creates a possible chemistry issue. I can bet it would be MUCH more frustrating to lose a game on a missed kick when you have a primadonna kicker that will publicly blast your team, than some wide-eyed hometown kid who is trying his ass off for his home team. |
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
any word on if they tried out any kickers?
|
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Get rid of him before he costs the team an important game! "Idiot kicker"!
|
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
Should we sign him? He might be a turd, but he's going to be better than Novak, who is making less than 50% of his FG attempts.
ESPN.com - NFL - Cowboys kick Vanderjagt to curb, sign Gramatica
Sure. I'm always in favor of signing Dallas rejects.:nono: |

the redskins are 4-7. is there really such a thing as an important kick? |
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
Signing him would be a move just like every other move that Dan Snyder gets criticized for. Big name... ignore the negatives. This guy got tossed off two teams and it wasn't because of non-production or "a slump". It was because he has a big mouth.

Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
Vandy brings baggage with him, the LAST thing we need is a kicker with baggage. If we were realistically in the playoff hunt i'd say sign him, but now that we are all but out of it, I'd say don't waste more money on a drama queen kicker, especially one from DALLAS
|
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
Is It Really That Hard To Find A Guy That Can Kick The Ball Past The 20 Yard Line????????? Cause Our Last 5 Kickers Couldnt Even Do That, Forget Field Goal Accuracy
|
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
I think we need to sign him...he'll come on the cheap...prob want to get back at the boys (but might not want to play for a 4-7 team)..but might not have a choice...
novack- god bless his UMD soul- ain't cuttin it.
novak did beat dallas :cheers , even if it was torture:rofl: leading up to the winning kick:woot: |
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
what has vandy done that was so wrong? got fucked up and said something he shouldnt have said, who here hasnt done that? has he said anything since then? did he say anything bad in dallas? give the guy a break
|
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
What has he done wrong? he's missed many big kicks for the cowboys, he TALKS to the media, it should be a rule that a kicker is not allowed to even speak to the media. He pouts on the sideline, how can you like him?
|
Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt
Alright then, for the anti-Vandy guys no complaining when Novak continues on his 50/50 tear.
