Re: Grand Jury Indicts Vick

After reading all 18 pages of the indictment I can’t see much of a defense for Vick and his gang. This whole thing makes me sick. Like jsarno already said you really must have a black heart, or be a sociopath to treat animals this way. I mean they really couldn’t find something else to bet on? Killing dogs in this fashion is deplorable. Especially for no other reason but the dog not testing well. This behavior is so cruel to me that I can’t even begin to understand it. Would it have been that hard to give the dog away? At least the humane society would euthanize the poor thing in a civil fashion. You don’t have to electrocute it or heaven forbid slam it to the ground until it dies. I have less then zero respect for Vick and I seriously hope that the NFL suspends him for life. If him playing more games in the league doesn’t give the NFL a black eye then I don’t know what will. I guess they could let O.J be commissioner. But other then murder not much else can top this. You must really have some mental issues if you can find pleasure in making other animals suffer. Screw Vick and anyone who defends this kind of behavior.

Man, Michael Vick’s stature here in Atlanta is falling faster than Jessica Simpson’s boobs (they are “real” you know). Regardless of the fact that he is entitled to his constitutional rights and has yet to have his day in court, as I’ve said many times to my kids: you are judged by the company you keep and you can often be perceived as guilty just by association alone. Unfortunately, Vick has been surrounded by some rather unsavory company and his image, and probably his career, will most likely be irreparable. Personally, I believe Vick is at the very least guilty of allowing this deplorable activity on property he owns, and most likely financed the operation among other things. The Falcon’s faithful here (not me) have long memories, and among the many dim-witted things Vick has committed, the “one fingered salute” last season still reigns as top of the heap. Michael “Con”Vick (thanks Colin Cowterd-anyone else think he sounds like Sylvester the cat on Looney Tunes?) has left the building.

Absolutely agree...by the way it was me that made the black heart comment.
It really angers me. I haven't been this pissed at a peice of news in a long time.
I hope he never gets to play football again...and if he does, I hope everyone boos him every time he touches the ball.

ps. Do you thing the Chargers made a good trade in the 2001 draft? Vick or L.T? With hindsight being 20/20 that sure isn’t to tough.lol
Why would the feds give the option only to Vick to rat out the other operations? Why wouldn't they pressure Vicks cronies into releasing the information? That way the feds not only take down Vick, but also get the other kennels. I am sure that Vick isn't the only one that can start naming names and locations...
Thats a great post there 8588, I just feel that since Vick was the ringleader of this little circus, the feds would think that HE would have the contacts in the other rings that were mentioned, but i did also notice that his cousin Devon Boddie who was the one they were coming after for the drug raid, and was the one, admittedly, took primary residence in the house was not indicted.... i thought that was seriously odd!

I think everyone felt that they made the wise choice even after they made it. No hindsight needed.
Like i have said a million times before, Vick is overrated. Always has been...but apparently he will no longer be. :D

Chargers got the better part of that deal easily. Even back in 2001 when they made it. I thought it was a great deal for San Diego. San Diego has a knack for making good deals. (example: 2004 Eli for Rivers)

Who do you go after: The guy who does coke in his basement, the guy who sells coke to a few clients, or the person who supplies the whole city with coke? Vick can't sing on anyone becuase he happens to be the person they want! He's at the top.

Sorry about that jsarno. Your black heart comment rang true to me. I just edited it to give you props for the comment.:food-smil

It's no big deal, just wanted to make you aware of it.
I think we are both pretty appauled at Vick and his actions. It's a shame the country doesn't have stiffer penalties for things like this. Who knows, maybe we'll see a "Vick" law in the future.

True. They have been doing pretty good with there personnel lately. Let’s see if Turner can make it all work this year. The Chargers have kind of been my “step child” team since the Rams left. I pull for them as long as there not playing the Redskins.

Only recently...they weren't exactly smart in the late 80's and throughout the 90's.

I especially am pulling for them now that they got embarassed by the patriots. I hate the patriots, and the chargers are a class team and orginization.

It doesn't hurt that I have a few Norv Turner autographed items and need him to be successful to cash in! :D

In addition to the trade you mention, and as I said previously in this thread, they kicked Matt Schaub to the curb earlier this year which now really looks bad. Now Joey Harrington may be the one to take over as QB and that isn't a good thing. Good luck Dirty Birds.

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully this will shed so much light on the subject and bring such stiffer laws. That the ignorant people out there that take part in dog fights will see that animal cruelty just isn’t right.
