I'm in agreement for Rabach too.
Please no one give me hell. |
Re: If we had to part w/ one more player...
Yeah, I gotta go Rabach too. He frees up a good amount of cap space without costing too much. We most likely could upgrade through the draft. He seems to have slowed down, and I just don't think he creates enough of a push up the middle.

Re: If we had to part w/ one more player...
For the FA gurus out there... what center(s) might become available after the draft who would be an upgrade over Rabach. I'm just thinking if we don't get Mack then somebody else will, along w/ Unger, and that should put some C talent on the market.
... cuz yeah of every potential cut mentioned in this thread erasing Rabach saves us the most money. |

Re: If we had to part w/ one more player...
Here are some stats on Rabach:
Year Team Starts 2001 Bal. 0 2002 Bal. 5 2003 Bal. 2 2004 Bal. 16 - Starting center Mike Flynn broke his collarbone in camp after signing a lucrative contract the year before. 2005 Was. 16 - Signed as a FA as an upgrade over COREY RAYMER and FREIDMAN. He did not want to compete at the guard position in Bal. and decided to sign with the Skins. 2006 Was. 16 2007 Was. 15 2008 Was. 16 My point is, he couldn't take the starting spot in Bal. except for injury, and we all know Raymer was'nt the starter we hoped he would be. I think Rabach filled our immediate need at the time. But has he ever had any competition for the starting spot at center and won in his professional career, excluding the wonderful Corey Raymer? |

Please no one give me hell.[/quote] That's just absurd (Joking voice, but not really joking). Who would we put there? Jansen? That went well last offseason (sarcasm). Of course my idea is just as crazy (honest admission). The difference is that the defense wasn't broke, but the offense needs some work. I do not think that there would be too much drop off between Fletch and Blades with the addition of AH. Replacing or getting rid of a serviceable olineman on the other hand would be counterproductive IMO, especially since we really don't have many options to replace him with. Sorry for...you know. |

We're way upside-down on Smoot's contract so he's not going anywhere. |
