Re: Samuels Out Next Week

Our front office has made some brilliant moves over the last 10 years and the Giants, Iggles, and Cowboys appreciate every one of them. Portis looks old and slow so he's probably set for another 6 years as the Skins' primary running back.

I know that Samuels said it scared him. He said he had to talk to doctors before " he decided what to do". I don't like the sound of that.

Yeah, I just heard that. Sounds like he is talking retiring. If that is true, If I was Jim I would quit now.

I don't think anyone could blame him if he is considering hanging it up. He's had a heck of a career. Nothing left to prove.

Everyone keeps talking about a RT that we've needed.. yeah, but to get trained up to take over the LT spot eventually. Samuels isn't what he used to be and I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see a healthy season from him again. We have to think of BOTH tackles ASAP.

I say let him rest until 2010 and re-evaluate then- praying he's better (he's a 14.4 cap hit right?) nothing left to play for this year (in most realistic scenarios).

I dont think it is an injury that can be fixed with time. He has Stenosis of the spine. That is progressive degeneration of the spine. Basicaly, the spinal canal is narrowing. If you watch the play, he barely gets hit and goes to the ground, seemingly with some degree of temporary paralysis. This does not bode well for future play.

You know I must not know anything about football, because I thought Rinehart played better than Thomas, and way better than Williams. On fourth and three, the key to the game Williams wiffs on his man. I dont understand.

musical guards, always makes for a solid line. Sometimes its not necessarily to improve from a 72 to a 74, if the whole line improves to a 75 by having a consistent set of players. Anyone with "inside knowledge" know if this is Bugels call or JZ's. I would be interested to know if JZ keeps overriding Bugel on this.

Zorn reportedly defers to Bugel on this, but who knows for sure

If Samuels retires, then we won't have much of choices next year but to resign J. Campbell (that is if he wants to come back) and use almost all of our picks to draft O-linemen next year..

Samuels out. I see a run, run, quick pass scenario. Maybe a pass, sack, fumble scenario at some point. Maybe a pass, sack, injury-Todd Collins scenario.

Ugggg. Not good.

The Redskins seem to have a knack for ruining players instead of developing them. Rinehart played pretty well. He was drafted for this spot. His confidence must be sky high right now. We can't develop receivers and our history with QB's after Gibbs 1 hasn't been very impressive. WTF. Does anyone in this organization know what they're doing?
