Re: Shanahan The New Head Coach Of the Redskins
I didn't expect his son to get the OC job I was hoping the potential rumor of clausen being joined by Charlie Weiss on the skins which would be good. Either way we not have a guy who has the respect to not back down from snyder.
I still don't understand the love for Weiss and Clausen. I'm so glad this nightmare didn't happen (hope to god we don't draft this guy). Clausen is way overrated and Weiss is a joke thats why they ran his ass out of South Bend. |

Too buddy-buddy for me. I want our coach to have a Marty like approach if actual change is to take place. My very insightful Peruvian manager use to tell me about our overbearing boss, "Never feed the fox an egg, because he will come back to you looking for more eggs later" ...Having lived in the US all my life I think the literal point was more applicable to rural Peru but I'm pretty sure it means don't become personal friends with your boss as he will expect friendly favors from your professional relationship. Anyway, I believe that is good advice to heed when in a position of authority and when dealing with someone like Snyder. Shanny has to thwart that precedence of owner friendship if he's to bring about real change...Bruce Allen too.
Your manager is a very wise man!! |

From ESPN:
Coaches on the Broncos' staff who could join Shanahan -- if they are interested and if Denver allows them to leave -- include offensive line coach Rick Dennison and running backs coach Bobby Turner, both former longtime Shanahan assistants. |

Now the search for a defensive coordinator begins

Re: Shanahan The New Head Coach Of the Redskins
Is there some place where you can go to look at coach's contracts or when they expire?
Someone mentioned bringing in OL Dennison from Denver. I didn't realize he was the OL coach for 9yrs. I thought it was Alex Gibbs that made the OL great. Alex is only in his second year with Houston and is called Asst. HC. I don't think we can make up any better fancy name then what he has now unless you call him the HC. But Dennison has been with Denver for 15yrs and 9yrs as OL coach. He's only listed as OL coach. I would like to see them pick up Bobby Turner RB coach from Denver also. |

Shanahan should look no further than Jerry Gray or Kirk Olivadotti. Zimmer is still with the Bengals as they are in the playoffs and can't agree to a contract till their season is over. I hope Shanahan decides to give Gray a shot at DC, that's the least the Redskins could do for putting him in 2 fake interviews to meet the Rooney rule. |

If they are intent on Zimmer we have to wait. Might as well enjoy Bengals football this weekend and observe Zimmer's skills. He failed misserably on prime time though. Hopefully it was a fluke and he can contain the Jets the second time around. If not then I'll be a little skeptical about a DC that can't adjust from game to game. Oh wait we had that last year. |

Seriously, speaking of arrogance (see CP vs. JC thread), Charlie Weiss' ego is bigger than his waistline which is saying something. And my only problem with Clausen is that, for some reason, I think he reeks of major bust and I just don't see him being successful in this league... |
Re: Shanahan The New Head Coach Of the Redskins
This is the best news I've heard since Gibbs was last hired. Shannahan Bitches!!!!

Weiss is probably going to end in Chicago as their OC. |

The way Gray was talking after the game, it made me think he knew something. After that interview I thought he had a chance but it sounds like Zimmer's gonna be the man. I think it was SS that said he'll look around first. |

We won't need him until after the SB, no need to pick one now. |

Re: Shanahan The New Head Coach Of the Redskins
I dont know how to feel about this.It kinda seems like we still have a puppet GM if Shanahan has final say on everything.I dont have the info to back it up,I have a good friend in Denver that says Shanahans personel moves were terrible, great coach, terrible talent evaluator.Didnt Shanny spend a high draft pick on that loser RB,cant remember his name.I want Shanny as the coach, not the final say soer
