Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
i googled the term and came up with no hits, so i can't beleive the term is used all across the league.
i get what it is - i just think using that terminology is like saying we'll run a 4-3 defense with a 5 man front because one of the linebackers is lined up on the line. its the terminology that was confusing - not the actual act.
yeah if you think of it literally it's confusing think of 3-4 being just the alignment/positioning of the players, the d-line on a 3-4 will be in diff spots than 4-3, even if you took a guy out of the 4-3 it's just how they're lined up and the personnel used |
Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
I wish this guy wasn't hurt. Haynesworth has been too much of a headache already but, the money is right.

Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
I like low risk High reward if he heals up & the incentive laiden contract excellent.

Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
This has the potential to be a great deal/acquistion.

this reaks of mike williams, ss you got any word of the skins hosting some sort of nfl biggest loser? |
Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Nah, it's not like he needs to lose 100 lbs like big Mike, he just needs to heal up and get back on the field.
I liken it more to when we traded for Brad Johnson and he rolled into DC in a wheelchair fresh off knee surgery. That ended up working out just fine. |
Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Maake is tongan. The last Samoan on the team was Joe Salavea, the next samoan will be Mike Iupati :)
|
Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Most Samoan's that make it to the NFL are very pridefull (i think it's a word) people, he will work his butt of to get on the field & play at a high level.

God I hope not, certainly a team like ours isn't in need of a guy that holds 12 ways to Sunday. He'd probably be a much better fit in Pittsburgh anyway, but personally I would much rather have Pouncey then Iupati. |

Me too. |
Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
we just have to let ma'ake take his time coming back, and can not rush him at all. Not just does he have knee problems, but he has a weight problem now. He'll definitley be put on the PUP List.

That's what I'm concerned about. Kemo is a 350 guy and putting that much weigh on that achilles makes it harder for him to recover, but hopefully he'll be healthy and ready to go. |
Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
All that matters w/ this signing is that it won't cost us much. It's low risk, low reward in all likelihood because of the seriousness of the injury. We'll still need to find another real NT for the season (counting on Monty would be silly).
