Whats with the love for Trent Williams all of a sudden? He played on a spread offense in a weak conference surrounded by All-Americans. He also wears two knee braces.

Also as you can see sometimes he wears the wrong jersey and helps the other team out.

^ Perhaps you are joking, Dirtbag. If not, I'd have to say that Williams is very athletic and moves well, just like you would want a zone blocking left tackle to do.

I also hear he has a bad shoulder and is underweight :D

Personally though I like Davis better. Davis has a much more powerful punch, slightly better footwork, and experience in a zone blocking scheme.

I think we're interested in Shipley because I read somewhere that Kyle Shanahan was at Texas's Pro day and had good things to say about Shipley. It would make since though, since we need a new Randle El type receiver/returner. This guys like another form of wes welker.

I'm sure that Kyle would be there either way and praise anyone from his alma mater. Not to say that we're not interested though, like you said he could be a good fit in the slot if we don't use Moss there or want something a little more long term.

Who knows who will be gone before/during the draft or who we might even plan to trade afterwards, so I wouldn't be TOO surprised if we went after a mid-round receiver.

They could be thinking, "Why not bring in our targeted future QB's favorite target and best friend".

Would actually make a lot of sense.

Slide Santana over to the #2, Thomas gets one season to prove he was worth his pick at the #1, and Shipley at the #3 spot. With Cooley and Davis, That looks like a damn decent receiving bunch for a young QB.

So, now we just have to keep him off his ass.............Enter Okung and Asamoah.

Seriously though, What situation would be better for mcCoy. Having his friend to back him up in the pros, get over the learning humps together and be there to inspire each other and offer encouragement. I think that would be a great move for Us, or for whoever drafts mcCoy. Shipleys hands are frickin sponges.
3rd round
He's a player I wouldn't mind putting together a package of something like our 4th round pick this year and 3rd next year to move back up into the 3rd round to grab. He could easily fill the role of a young explosive receiver we need for 3rd down as well as kick returns.
