You're dense if you think that BYU is an easy school to play at. Between the honor code that bans sex and alcohol to the two year morman mission in a third world country, it's a wonder anyone makes it out alive :D
Thought this was ironic.

2006 Season Stats: Other than Colt Brennan, perhaps no signal-caller in college football had as good of a season as John Beck. In terms of pure statistics, he is nearly unmatched. He

ranked second in the country to Hawaii's Colt Brennan in passing efficiency with a rating of 169.1. Beck ranked in the top five quarterbacks in the NCAA in nearly every major offensive category: points responsible for(19 ppg.), total passing yardage(3,885 yards), and passing yards per game(323.75 ypg.). That is not even mentioning Beck tossed an eye gouging touchdown to interception ratio(32 touchdowns: 8 interceptions) and a hair-raising completion percentage of 69.3 percent.
You ought to check out of his scouting reports. Eerily similar to Colt
John Beck Scouting Report
Strengths:
John Beck has a quick release and is efficient in a short passing attack. Beck has adequate arm strength and is a good character person.
Weaknesses:
Beck has an awkward release, including a low release point at times. He comes from a shotgun based spread passing offense in college and will be forced to adapt to making more vertical NFL throws. He is older than the typical prospect at age 25.
Overall:
Beck has been effective at BYU, but will have a hard time being anything more then a backup at the next level. He is not the athlete many teams are seeking at quarterback and his age is a concern. He is good at making quick decisions and has acceptable arm strength.

2007 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
John Beck, QB, BYU
John Beck looks to be a top 10 QB, perhaps going as early as the third round, but more realistically probably fourth or even fifth round. His age (at 25) is a concern, as well as being a product of the BYU system that typically plays weaker teams. His arm strength is average, but his strengths include his accuracy and great decision-making ability, thus avoiding turnovers. He also has a pretty quick release and a good presence in the pocket. His height is average for a QB, but is shorter than the premier QBs in this year's draft (Quinn is 6'4 and Russell is 6'6).

Stupid bastards!!!!!!!! They could have just signed Frerotte to be the 3rd stringer til they draft a QB next year or in 2012. Frerotte is probably still better than this Beck. Shit, if Gus is still working out, he would have been better than Brennan.
Calm down Gus, just put your highlight package on Youtube and maybe you'll get invited to some training camp somewhere. It's not happening in Washington though.
So, John Beck is 29 years old. Just one year younger than Grossman and a year (well, more like four months) older than Campbell.

Would have liked this trade a lot more if he was 26 or something, but those mormon missions will really kill your pro career.
I couldn't believe he got drafted at 25. I remember the Dolphins taking him and everybody was talking about what a reach it was and now look at him. He's been cut, signed with another team, and traded to another team for a camp scrub. That's pretty bad for a 2nd round pick haha.
My dad went to Va Tech and W Va. No connection with Tulsa. And it isn't such a rabid obsession as it is just pure schtick, although I am a Gus fan for sure!!!!! The Cult of Colt is dead, but the legions of Gus fans live on!!!!!
Meant your uncle and Tulsa (unless I'm off about that), and I know it's basically schtick...like me and Jevan Snead.
I read that Brennan said that Kyle tried to get Beck before and couldn't.
So it appears that Kyle has always like Beck.
Btw Beck's ball velocity was tested higher then Joe Flacco's.
So dude has a strong arm.
I have a hunch that Beck makes the squad as a developmental QB.
I find that very hard to believe.

Beck will wear #3 which makes him "The Answer" or...."The Question"

Anyone think Colt may end up in Raven's camp if JZ can convince some folks of him.

I had this thought last night, but I think if Colt thinks he can make a roster somewhere, the Ravens should be the last place he considers playing. With Flacco, Smith and Bulger all already on the roster, there's about 0 chance he makes that squad.

I guess he's "The Question" for now, with hopes of someday becoming "The Answer". :biggthump
