Glen Beck was also on CNN/HLN at one point. He may have actually been on CNN for a longer time period than he was on Fox.
The truth is MSNBC is much more opinionated than anyother news source, including the evil Fox News. Something even more telling is this quote: Pew Study Finds MSNBC the Most Opinionated Cable News Channel By Far - Forbes There are a few reasons why Fox is so popular: Smoking hot news anchors Extremely high quality journalism and excellent production, compared to competitors Conservative bias, in a world where ever other media outlet has a liberal bias
ignorance? |
Re: Has Anyone Else Completely Lost Faith In The Media?
Also, lets look at the sample size of that graph. The graph looks at each network on 3 days (Mon 11/26, Wed 12/5, Tue 12/18). Far from a definitive source on either side. I'm not familiar with each channel's 'lineup' on those days of the week, but day of the week can greatly skew opinion vs fact.
It doesn't matter which news source it is, I don't consider this poll very reliable. I also am curious what they consider opinion vs fact and how they split the two up. What we should really be concerned about is that 2 out of 3 are more opinion than fact, and the one that has more facts is closer than I'd like.
The full research did take more than just those 3 days to analyze trends and topics, I would imagine pew used a representative sampling for graphing purposes:
To get a sense of the long-term trends in coverage, Pew’s researchers analyzed more than 700 hours of cable news programming consisting of more than 15,000 individual stories from 2007 and 2012.
|
lol,....you mean other than turning on the TV and watching it myself and listen to what others say about it,no.
Glen Beck was on Fox at one point correct? and I know this guy is all about "real news",not opinion! Bill O'Reilly GOES CRAZY In EPIC SEGMENT. This Is BULL BLANK. (O'Reilly vs Colmes) - YouTube
And Al Sharpton is on MSNBC. I suspect we'll say that everything we agree with is less biased than what we disagree with. 'Course in this discussion, I guess we can just categorize your claim as "opinion" rather than "news", and move on. Lol. :) |
Re: Has Anyone Else Completely Lost Faith In The Media?
Anybody who agrees with absolutely everything the President says and does like Sharpton, Chris Matthews and Madow is a complete f*(cking moron. Just like Fox pundits (Hannity, etc.) did when Bush was in the office.
People need to start thinking for themselves again. Its really effing sad. |

Meanwhile in regards to your claim "most people think it's the opposite", re: the survey of MSNBC being the most opinion based, again you have nothing. |
Most people believe it to be the other way around.
If most people believe it to be the other way around then why does FOX have the best ratings? |

Without knowing what demographic was used I say they only polled Fox people. |

It was done by Pew Reserchers. You didn't even read the article. To get a sense of the long-term trends in coverage, Pew’s researchers analyzed more than 700 hours of cable news programming consisting of more than 15,000 individual stories from 2007 and 2012. |

To AP, Britain’s first woman prime minister was an autocrat who “imposed her will,” by “breaking the unions,” until she was pushed out by a “mutiny.” “Love her or loathe her,” the obituary began. It was obvious which one AP chose. And all that in the first 70 words recalling her 11 years of service to Britain and the world. Then there’s Hugo Chavez, who AP called a “fiery populist,” who “crusaded” and “championed.” AP didn’t even hint at Chavez’s controversial nature until the third paragraph and there they still softened the criticism. “He polarized Venezuelans with his confrontational and domineering style, yet was also a masterful communicator and strategist who tapped into Venezuelan nationalism to win broad support, particularly among the poor,” wrote AP. A terrifying report of explosions at the White House injuring President Obama caused the DOW Jones Industrial average to plunge 100 points after the Associated Press' Twitter account was allegedly hacked. 'Breaking: Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured,' the news agency Tweeted just after 1pm on Tuesday. The White House and AP quickly assured the public that the report was not true but word didn't appear to come fast enough to those frantically responding on Wall Street. *sigh* CNN has completely fallen off the wagon. Not even going to talk about their shitty reporting during the Boston bombing incident. |
