nice pick up. our safety play should be significantly improved this year which is going to be a major upgrade on the defense. Good job by the FO in that department

I LOVE the signing of Tanard Jackson. I'd like to know what his contract and cap figures are like though. If we managed to give him the same sort of cheap "prove yourself" contract that we wanted to give Landry then i say it's a great addition. He very well could easily enter the 2012 season as a starter.

great great pickup, i really like it. i like this signing the best this offseason other than Garcon and Morgan. I think this move can really pay off, i think our starters at safety will be Jackson at free and merriweather at strong.

Well I am sure Raheem Morris had a lot of input and he should know Jackson better than anyone. I just hope the team's coaching leadership does a good job at keeping order inside and outside the locker room, since now we have two starters and a potential starter with drug-related suspensions.

I think the more reason why we need Fletcher's leadership. And I am glad to hear that the team is pushing to sign him before Monday. I am also glad the team is bringing safeties to compete, given that I see this as the team's #1 need right now.

This has been the Redskins MO under Shanahan/Allen. We did it with RB's, WR's, and now safeties. I am ok with it. The NFL is as much a numbers game as anything. Bring guys in, and see which ones rise to the top. You may not end up with all-stars at every position, but everyone on the team will be a hard worker because they have to beat out comparably talented guys.

Jackson also a local boy. Played ball at Potomac High. So we have Morgan, Hightower, and Jackson all guys that played or grew up in the DC area.

I like the Tanard Jackson signing.....


BUT


He gets suspended/hurt a LOT. If he stays clean and healthy, he will be a GREAT signing.

I disagree. We have bodies at the position, but do we actually have a 16 game starter? Nope. Hopefully someone will emerge out of the group but this is a position that will need to be addressed in the future.
